Thanks Pat. You are right you know- it does look a bit like a faded photo. I think I was lazy. The edits were all pretty easy "run of the mill" and then when I saw the result of the morning filter, I just liked it without thinking too much about it. The story is about two men enjoying a chat in the shade and the editing doesn't lend itself to that. It's been a good lesson - very useful comments from all. |

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone - pretty well spot on! I applied sharpening, upped the contrast and added a vignette and it certainly is better. I will remember all of that when I get onto next month's submission.
Janet - I haven't been to India but it is, or was, our preferred destination for next trip. Coronavirus has pulled us up a bit at the moment. I think it will be a great opportunity for all sorts of photography. |

Do you know what? It looks great if you turn it upside down too! And further removed from reality without making it unrecognisable. What editing program did you use? |

You really do have an interesting garden. How exciting to wake up to some unexpected snow and a photographic opportunity! It's a nice composition which leads my eye from the middle foreground to the back. On my computer the contrast seems to be a bit high. I'd like to see your original version though. |

I love the simplicity of this image Carl. The original is quite dull in comparison with the bright final version. Hard to tell it is/was a snow scene! You've done some skilful editing and the resulting image is beautiful. |

Well, that is a great edit you have done! It looks like the poppy is enclosed in a glass ball. The original image has been turned into work of art. |

Thanks Phillipa. I agree with what you say. I like the subject. This editing was the only one I did and I think I could play around a bit more. |

Hi Pat - easy to see why you would want to visit this place - lovely!! Not sure what you mean about pixelation on the flowing water. Looks pretty good on my computer. Seems you have done a great job with the editing. I could only suggest that you could crop a bit off the bottom to take the edge up nearer to the rocks. Agree with Phillipa on the tree on the right. |

Hi Belinda - Some really good editing here to get rid of extraneous bits to create an engaging scene. The light on the building at the end is lovely and the path leads us right up there.Your attention to detail in checking the light the following day paid off. I like the crookedness of the pole and the building at the back. Gives a bit of character to the shot. A very pleasing image. |
