Thanks Janet - I have never seen this bubble effect before and it really caught my eye in the light. Not sure what caused it but it looks good. |

I love your photo and story too. Having been to the wet markets in China, I also understand your reaction to the smell. Even the dog seems to be suffering. I can't add any further comments to what has already been posted. Great image. |

Lovely shot. Great expression - he looks so relaxed and content. I've never heard of a slingshot. |

I also, am a B&W fan but I also love vibrant blended colour. The original has a wow factor because of the shapes of the petals and the colours, all beautifully enhanced by the back lighting. To me the centre of the B&W version is a bit threatening - maybe too much contrast? The good thing about digital photography is that we can have both. |

Your photo brings back happy memories of when I was a little girl running in paddocks, making daisy chains and telling the time with dandelion seeds. Interesting perspective looking straight down on the subject. I think a crop from the top right corner would bring out the two main blooms. You would lose a lot of the flower at the back but it wouldn't matter. Sorry I don't know how to download the photo and try this change though. Perhaps you can tell me how? |

Thanks Laurie. I think you have nailed it. Much better crop and quite obvious now I see it. |

I love this photo! What a simple, creative idea. Can't wait to have a go myself. The big bubble with the words gives added interest. |

A lovely neighbourhood if your photo is anything to judge by. I think I prefer the original version. There is a natural line that takes my eye from the rocks up the spray of blossom and back down the steps. The darkening in the revised version makes it all pop. I can see the need to fill the gap at the bottom of the steps - another rock would look more natural. But I wouldn't know how to do that. Photoshop? |
