Thanks Bill, I am experimenting with a regular flash at the moment, but,as always the diffusion is my enemy. I do like the ringflash, but, not when photographing Ladybugs or any insect with a Shiny shell, as i don't like the "ring effect" reflection. I made a diffuser out of a Pringle tube and going to try out tonight. |

Great detail in this image, the background texture is very nice and not overdone, as the flower stands out. Composition is also excellent as it fills the top half of the frame and gently eases off at the bottom. Well Done |

Strong colors ,great sharpness. You had a good deal of clarity in the original without the increase, I actually like the blue background and you did a nice crop, as the left hand side of the original invoked my curiosity |

I think its a lovely example of spring. I love the pinks and the detail in the petals.I can agree with Denise that the leaf is a "little" distracting, but not to ruin the image. I always carry a small nail scissors with me to do a bit of gardening before shooting. Haven't seen Dogwood flowers since my trip to Tremont in Tennessee a few years ago ( Although i remember them a white color). |

Its an excellent image Bill, I love the blue and yellow they compliment each other nicely. Focus is spot on as too is exposure. And for me, I like the flower facing from right to left, rather then the "normal" left to right. |

You did very well Carol in catching detail in this Crab Spider (I think?). Looking at the original, the cropping makes the image more noisey. But in saying that, trying to chase these guys around is no Joke. Maybe the help of an external flash might have helped your shutter speed. A normal flash on camera with a diffuser would help, rather than buying the expensive macro flashes. |
