I love the expression on the fishmonger's face. That really makes the image, and I'm not put off by the softness of his face. To me, it's obvious what the subject of the photograph is and the fact that the sharpest point in the image is on the back of the woman behind him doesn't distract my eye.
I think this photograph works on many levels. The composition is good, capturing three people in the scene in a triangular formation. That works. I think the contrast between the warm yellow colors of the tags and the cool purplish color of the fish mongers' sweater helps the overall scene to stand out nicely. And there's a definite sense of place in this image.

This is an image that tells a story, and I like that. I think it can be powerful and I would continue to work on it. I agree with you and Ed that the green background doesn't work. I don't really think the skyline background works either. It gives it an artificial look. Of the 3 versions, I like the Original the best. |

I love this picture. It has a certain surreal quality and clean look to it that I find really cool. The placement of the subject is perfect for bringing my eye into the image and focusing on the subject. And I like the depth of field that you selected for this image. This is just a really cool image in my opinion. |

Thank you Victor. I took this image over a year ago while in Costa Rica. I believe a lot of the tonality was achieved in-camera, but I don't recall exactly how I had that set. I did do a fair amount of processing on it too, however. Thank you for your comments, which I always find worthwhile. |
