Thanks Bill. I guess maybe I'll have to reconsider the sign. |

I like the composition and the leading lines in this image. You also did a nice job in getting a sharp and interesting image. But to me, I feel like this image could be made even stronger. I'm looking for more contrasts I think and stronger black points and white points. I want this image to pop more than it does for me right now. But overall, I think you've done an excellent job with the composition and the sharpness of the image. |

Thanks Karen. I'll have to think about that. I tend not to take things out of street photographs unless there is something that is really, really distracting. I personally don't find that sign distracting. I think it might be a little like the wires and the question of whether or not they should stay in or come out. My inclination right now on both the sign and the wires is to leave them in. But I'll sleep on it. Thank you for your thoughts on it. |

Thank you Victor. I'm glad you said that about the angled wires because that's what I was thinking when I included them. But after Bev made her crop I found myself re-evaluating that. Your positive comments about leaving them in have reinforced my thinking on it. Thank you for that. |

Thanks Bev. I'm generally not a believer in cropping that much in street photography but I do like what you did. I have this image on the cover for a street photography class I'm teaching (starting June 29 via Zoom). I'm going to revise the cover and incorporate a cropped version like you suggest. Thanks. |

I think this is a nice image. I like the colors in it and the brightness of the image. I also like the angle you shot this at with the bow forming a leading line up into the scene. It's also a nice sharp image of the man and his violin.
There is one distraction for me though, and that is the woman's butt right behind the violin. To me, it stands out too much and it is located in such a critical part of the image. |

I think that you did a nice job of adding contrast and clarity as well as brightening the horse's nose and the woman's face. And I think choosing black & white over color was the right choice too.
I am, however, really distracted by the two headless people standing behind the horse. My eye keeps going there and wanting to see their faces (or not seeing them at all). For me, that's a big negative with this image. |

This is a really nice job of capturing what Henri Cartier-Bresson refers to as capturing the "decisive moment." To me, that's what 90% of street photography is about. But also one that is hard to identify and time perfectly, which you did here. The image is sharp and compositionally well done. It's another nice job. |
