80 May 19 Reply Thank you Dan. I'm not sure why my original image isn't showing anymore. But I find your idea of trying this photo in black and white intriguing, and I'm going to take a look at how it looks in black and white. Thank you for the suggestion. May 31st
80 May 19 Comment I like this photograph a lot. And I would not remove the two legs. To me, it shows the humanity and despair that is there, even if we don't see the rest of the person. I think that adds to the sense of place that this image has. Very nice job! May 10th
80 May 19 Comment This image raises several questions in my mind. The young lady in the red dress appears to be squinting yet she is facing away from the sun based on how the shadows fall. Why is she squinting? Then there's the fact that they all seem to be looking in different directions and none are looking at you, which seems strange. And I have the question of why you were shooting at a low shutter speed on what appears to be a fairly bright day? At that shutter speed and at ISO 100, I would have expected this image to be fully blown out.

But I like the pose and I like the use of leading lines with the outstretched leg.

I hope I don't seem too critical on this, but I'm truly having a hard time understanding it. I think it's a great idea, and I think it could be a powerful photograph.

80 May 19 Comment This is an interesting photograph. I'm thinking that it would make a more powerful statement if you actually got in closer to the bicyclist. The building in the background takes up too much of the image I think. I'm a believer in "filling the frame" with the subject on photographs like this. It would be good if there were a way to get more lighting on his face too. Good capture. May 10th
80 May 19 Comment I love this image. It's one I salivate over and wish I had taken. Everything is perfect in it. The lighting, the shadows, the sharpness, the lines, the angle its taken, the story it tells --- all perfect. Very nice job! May 10th
80 May 19 Comment Nice image. Good leading line with the crosswalk as the starting line. It does make it feel like they are going to go screeching out fast competing against each other. I agree with Beverly that the image could be lightened a little. But I like the overall lighting and the shadows. May 10th
80 May 19 Comment Thank you Beverly. It comes across darker here than the original does on my computer screen at home. May 10th
