I would take some off the top. The sky by itself doesn't have that much contrast to be interesting. Need to bring the mountains out more. |

When I first saw this, I had no idea what it was. As Sol said, the water drops really add interest and the exposure is excellent. |

I agree with Neal about the dark purple. You've got good detail in the rest of the petals. A shame not to have some in the whole iris. |

Thanks for the suggestion but I would not do that. The "star" of the photo is not just the lighthouse but the skylines in the background. Also there is some shrubbery on the right which I think helps to balance the stuff on the left. (Since you like lighthouses, I've since learned this was the southernmost lighthouse on the Hudson River and is now a national historic landmark.) |

Nice picture. Sounds like you got lucky for a few minutes. I would crop it a bit top and right, that's all. |

Truthfully, I would not have guessed. Maybe that says more about my own inexperience as a photographer but you did a good job. Actually where is the bird's shadow that you refer to. I don't even see it. |
