Hi Karl,
The image on the right seems to have a different background? I love the muted colors in the background. I also love how the dandelion (?) hairs closed together with the addition of the water. It looks like a paint brush. If I had only seen the image screen right, I would have wondered where in nature I could find such a thing. I have yet to do any macro work, but I love seeing it. |

Hi Lauren,
I love tulips and to think that I've never photographed one yet! I can tell you're a passionate artist. Love your bold colors and the color combinations. What a fun image! |

I agree with Karl on his comments. The hydrant needs more emphasis and one way to do that is with placement. The another is with dodging and burning. I wanted to see how it would look so I practiced with your image. Maybe something a little like this? |

Hi Valerie,
I love how you processed the sky, it fits better with the rest of your manipulations. It has a more "desolate" feel to it, an ending to a story. The trees, once full swaying with life, becoming dormant with glimmers of what once was. |

Hi May, I was drawn to your image first. It's so different than what I'm used to. I wasn't sure whether I liked the shadow on the surface behind the model, but the shadow can tell help to tell the story. Maybe she is facing her projected innerself. It is as if she were submerged in water and her hair suspended, yet to settle. She is unafraid and wants to learn what lies beyond. |

Hi Judith,
My first thought was that there was someone fishing on the banks. The light coming through arch-like tree shadows on the thicket of bushes is a pretty cool effect. I actually like both versions and each version tells a different story. The black and white version is reminiscent of the old TV series called "The Outer Limits". Intriguing as it is unsettling as to imagine what comes next. I'm drawn to the warm tones in the original image and wished that the foreground picked up on the warm tones and maybe darkened to add more mystery to the image. I love this image, it tells a story I want to hear. |

Thanks Karl,
Yes, it does look better without the sky, thanks. It would probably look better if I burned in some of the leaves as well. There are many sunflower fields where I live. I look forward to them every year. |
