Hi Sandra, I agree with everything that Valerie and Judith said. It looks like you placed the buds on a reflective surface. I love reflections! I think the two twigs in the back would have worked with the scene, had the display been slightly turned. It would also show more of the flowers. I'm imagining an elegant Asian type look. I'm wondering whether F/4.0 could have worked to get more of the scene in focus while throwing the background out of focus. |

Hi May, I love the thought and idea behind the photo. This photo doesn't seem to convey the feeling of liberation or isolation for me. I think it's because of all of the texture in the scene that draws my eye, rather than to the hair. On the other hand, I do love the monochrome treatment of the image, it makes the water cup look like a metallic surface. I also like textures and depth reflected on the surface. That bit of imperfection on the surface does remind me of a seahorse as Judith pointed out. I don't think the hair could stand out with all that is going on in the background. I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Hi Valerie, I've been to Nara! I spy chestnut (kuri) and pomegranate (zakuro)--great assortment of color and texture. Seems the movement of the camera is the "going" thing now. I see it a lot lately. I don't know what the fruit in the middle is, I'd have to see more of it. |

Judith, love the title! I like the colors, so reminiscent of a fragrant peach. I particularly like the overall delicateness and brightness of the image and your interpretation of the scene. |

Karl, I love it! I've been wanting to do bubble photography as well. It's a fun image that tells a story and I could tell right away that it was about the virus. I also like the choice of the black background. A macro of the globs of olive oil by itself would have been cool too. Technically though, I feel the olive oil globs are too sharp against the softness of the bubble and I wish the bubble were sharper. Nice! You have the Z7, how are you liking it? |
