I like the perspective you chose for your image. I can really see the age of the structure with many layers of paint peeling. I think the lighting great with so many details. Makes one reflect on our judicial system. |

Nice capture, Don! I always love to hear the Kingfishers song and then catch a fleeting sight as they fly upstream. I have yet to get a photo of one. |

Great image of wild flowers! Too bad the wind was giving you so many problems.
I try to look for groups of three flowers in the same plane. I think using the wide angle lens gave you a great depth of field and you were able to shot at 1/200sec. |

Nice capture, Ray. Love baseball games, esp. the 7th inning stretch.
Do you have room at the top to leave a little space above the 2nd baseman's head?
I think I would crop in a little from the right too. I agree with Cindy, to remove the white lettering at the bottom. I think I would go into Photoshop and fill that space with the blue color there already but don't crop the space, just fill it in with the blue. |

I like your subject for this composition in general. Were you able to move around the area and shoot this scene from various angles; ie right and left and maybe even a higher perspective. I have no issue with having the fishing net as part of the scene.
I like that you have separation between the fish net enclosure and the end of the land mass. As mentioned, the clouds may have a lot of noise (luminance and color). For me, the red around the light house could be a distraction. But, that's just my eye.
One last note, from the before shot you have removed a lot of the fog. This may have caused the noise issue in the clouds. |

I think the overall composition is good. I like the tree branches framing on the left side. As discussed, I think the composition needs space above the top of the fireworks and removing the grass to the right. To my eye, you have captured the fireworks well for exposure and focus.
You have written the ISO is 64 but that seems low; was it 6400?
What lens were you using and its f-stop?
Did you use manual focus? Normally for this type of photography I think one focuses the lens at infinity which should have put the buildings in focus too. I think in this example getting the buildings in focus using auto-focus and then switching the camera to manual focus would work. Hope that makes sense.
Sorry for all the questions. Best! |

Don, I agree that building 24 is a distraction. I did reduce its brightness but that is about all I can do. Barring removing it from the image thru Photoshop, I think it is part of the buildings history and does ask the question, "What is building 24 and where are buildings 1-23?" I do feel that building 24 and the structure to the right (peaked roofs) do balance each other visually somewhat, from left to right (on the thirds lines roughly). I might try leaving the "24" in color and brighten it to draw the eye to the number 24. |
