I like the expression and gesture of the black horse. Is the horse chewing on his friends rear end? Maybe a friendly nip! For me, I like how the ridge of the black horse's face runs parallel with the neck of the white, which also provides great color contrast. I think the ears of the two horses kind of mirror each other. For me, the brown of the third horse adds another color to the photo, similar to the background. |

Hi Don, I like how you have cropped in on your photo and made great use of the feathers surrounding the birds face and beak. |

Hi Charlie, I too like the lighting and color of the birds and water. The orange feet are great too. For me, I think that trying to get the two birds separated so they are not overlapping makes a good photo too. I think I might have tried to move to the left and get a different angle on them to get the separation between the two or wait for them to move. Maybe that was not possible. For me, it is hard to stay in the same spot waiting for something like this to happen. |

Hi Ray, I like the color combination and lighting of these flowers. What type of flowers are these? |

Hi Richard, I like your composition especially the gesture by the horse! I think the detail in the horse's mouth is great and the horses hair covering his or her face. |

Hi Bai, I like the window in frame concept you have used here (rock walls framing the trees and sky). I shot this same type of picture last year in a mine on the Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina, USA.
I visited Taiwan about 15 yrs ago for business. Taiwan is a beautiful country. We visited Formosa Corp on the southwestern shore near Kaoshiung. We flew down in a small twin propellor plane! Great views. |

Hi Don,
Thanks for your comments! I did not use the hyperfocal distance. This is a good idea, which I will revisit for the future. I believe the focal point is in the foreground. I relied on f/16 for sharpness. Usually I try to use f/8 because I know my lens is sharper at f/8.
For fun, I went to my favorite app PhotoPills and calculated the hyperfocal distance at 28mm for my camera. At f/16, the distance is 8ft. So, my foreground can be as close as 4ft and still be in focus. At f/8, the distance is 16 ft and my foreground can be as close as 8ft and still be in focus. I believe this is correct. I used some of the concepts here from the link below. Especially, 6) doubly the distance method. This was a good review for me, thanks.
