I suspect this "blue" jellyfish is in an aquarium? That's the only place I've seen "blue" ones. |

I think the pastel colors bring out the textures and that wonderful "pearlescence" that would have been overwhelmed by bold colors. |

Thanks for the comments Ally. I purposely decided to center the jellyfish given that it is kind of blobby and the tentacles are floating to the left. If it were a fish, I would have given space for it to travel in the direction it was pointing. |

You are absolutely right about the speed Carole. It's an example of how sometimes I set up myself to capture images of one thing, like a landscape, and then happen upon something else, like jellyfish viewable from the shore and moving with the tide. I should have taken a moment to review my settings. It isn't the first time it's happened! |

Great technique Carole! You might consider rotating the image by 22 or 45 degrees just to make the lines more interesting. |

Very interesting image. I've seen many washed up jellyfish in my travels, but not one that looked like this. Perhaps it is endemic to South Africa.
I wasn't aware that cockles ate jellyfish. Their circular arrangement and colorful shells add a nice touch to the image. Great job! |

Lisa, you should have posted a jellyfish image. Then any visitors to our site would think the subject was jellyfish!
Very nice image. At first I thought you shot through water, but now I see the texture is more uniform. Great effect! Did you purchase a pane of glass for this purpose, or do you have textured windows in your house?

Mark, I think you should name this "The Perfect Lemon." It is a very fine image. I love the detail in the lemon peel and the black background. Well done! |

What a great idea! If only this was a working abbey. I'll try to rustle up one from the street! |

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Mark. I went through many filters in SilverEfx Pro, but finally decided on something that would use more of the range from black to white, which is why I chose for the ceiling to be darker. To my eye, that dark section adds more depth.
As to straightening out the pillar on the right, the custodians will be impressed, as the building, being rebuilt in the 13th century, is a bit off kilter in places. :-) |

Thanks so much Bruce. I will trying reducing the brightness on the left. I'll be back there in early 2027, so I can also try again. :-) |

WOW! I love this image. It is very creative. My eye was drawn to the music to see if you chose "Take me out to the ballgame", and then I noticed the hand which also adds a nice touch to this montage.
I haven't used Smart Photo Editor. Do you enjoy it? |

Happy New Year Bruce. Wonderful image of this statue and a great choice to convert to BW. The angle makes the gazelle look as if he is ready to fly into the clouds and contributes to the sense of power. Great job! |

Well done Andrew! The shallow depth-of-field keeps my eye on the firefighter. The textures created by the water droplets are wonderful and add a lot to the image. Revealing the firefighter's eye was the right move as it brings humanity to the image. Yes, I agree BW is a good choice for this image.
What a lucky shot! I am happy that you told us he was at a drill and not fighting an actual fire. Preparation is an important part of his job.
I'm curious to see the equestrian event images. Perhaps next month? |

Happy New Year Andrew! Thank you for your comments. My challenge for this image was to find a few moments when no one was walking in the corridor. I was with a tour group, and there was another group in front of ours. As soon as they exited, I made it to the front of our group! I'm sure you've had that challenge at times. |
