While the iPhone does a decent job, the D50 gives deeper colors, stars that are more points than smears, and a stunning Milky Way. I like that one better! Well done. |

Thanks for your kind words. Other techniques focus on capturing the prominences or the famed "diamond ring." Keeping my aim simple helped! |

Yes Carole, there is a world of difference between a partial and full eclipse. It is amazing how the eye adapts to the ever-disappearing sun. It's not until that last bit gets covered up that we observe darkness. And then, glasses off and one can look at the sky with the naked eye. |

I've been to the Southwest many times, but never to Monument Valley. You captured its essence well. I like that the formation is silhouetted. The sky is amazing as it move from orange to blue. Great job! |

Big sky country! It is as if you are high above the mountains. The winding road and the cabin add interest to this wonderful assortment of clouds . Very nice. |

Wow! What a great shot. I think they are mammatus clouds, which typically indicate a severe storm is on the way. So it was good that you fled! I like the way you captures the side light trying to get through the dense clouds. Good job! |

This is a wonderful aurora image. The reflection really enhances the image. Nice job!
Can you share the technique you used? Camera, settings, tripod or not? What state are you in? The aurora doesn't often dip into the continental US. Those in the north get the best opportunities. |

What a wonderful image! I love the way it transitions from dark to blue, and how you were able to capture a hint of orange in the clouds, which complements the blue sky nicely. |

Like Andrew, I thought this was in an exotic location. I think that means your grunge look succeeded. Well done!
I would have enjoyed seeing the original image so I could see exactly how your treatment effected the image. |

Great motion capture. I like that you chose monochrome because it highlights the texture and detail in the feathers. And, as you pointed out, keeps our focus on form and grace.
The bird's pose reminds me of an orchestra conductor with baton in the air! |

That kid in the middle with the frightened face would be me! It's a great image. I love the colors and the perspective. The Super Shot happy bear gives the scene a bit of humor the way it is positioned under the frightened boy. Great job! |
