Thanks for your comments Nancy. Even if I wanted to, given the constraints of the sharp rocks on the ground, there would be no way to get the skull beneath the horizon line unless I stood up and took the shot. I also think that would have split the image into two segments. I agree that the right horn leads the viewer.

Hi Lisa,
While all three images have their merits, to my eye, I like the first supplemental image the best. It shows the peaks, the lake, and a young man who appears to be contemplating the beauty of nature. It feels more active to me.
Regarding the image of the resting man, I would prefer a big less sky. A tighter crop might be worth exploring. I do like the fact that your son wore a cap and shoes in the same color palette of the forest! |

Hi Carole,
I love your canoe / Banff image. Not only is it a good near/far image, but it has complementary colors going for it. The lake is so still that I wonder why the canoe are on the dock and not being used in the lake. Perhaps it was early morning? |

I agree with Carole about the mystery of this image. With the ladder the brightest, it makes me think of "The escape from Sloss Iron Mill." So rather than an intruder, I think escapee!
Well done. Your image evokes many stories. |

Very creative Ally! It was a good choice to convert to BW, as I know how harsh safari light can be. I suspect that the grasses were all dried, which also makes a good case for BW. Well done! |

To Bruce's point about the blur on the wing tip....a wildlife photographer gave me a tip that a minimum capture speed of 1/2000 for birds will avoid blur. It seems to work for me. |

Hi Bruce,
What a terrific reflection image! I think a tighter crop would get rid of the distractions. Otherwise, you did a fine job on the post processing and composition. |

Hi Mark,
What a great historical image, and something so meaningful to your life. Do you have many other images like this? If so, you might consider making a booklet (if you haven't already).
My father-in-law had a set of images from the Korean War that ended up getting exhibited in Suwon, Korea due to their historical nature. The town didn't have images that showed what it was like during that time. So they were very excited to see them. Your images might have a wider interest. |

What an intriguing image. I love this perspective as it is very creative. Monochrome suits the subject. How was it that you were allowed to get this close to the underside of an aircraft? |

Hi Andrew,
What a wonderful capture! I'm surprised that a tern so young was out of the nest. Having the baby in such clear view is special. The DOF is good. You have the most important thing--the hand off--in focus. Well don. |
