Abstract images (like this closeup) can tell you a lot about the viewer of the image. I have an abstract at home and each of my friends sees something different. You might be surprised at the results of your poll. But that's great because you image causes people to reflect. |

I agree with Ally that the image without the wording is strong! |

The reverse is true as well. My husband and I visit London whenever we can. We also have friends there. We might both speak English, but colloquial terms can be a challenge! |

Money in the USA has been called "bread" or "dough" for some time. I think it harkens back to the term "Breadwinner" and the fact that bread helps sustains one's self. Years ago, people used to make their own bread, hence the dough reference. It is interesting how these slang terms pop up! |

Hi Connie,
My eye is drawn so much to the text that I have a difficult time appreciating the baked goods through the forest of letters. If your church is still baking, you might try taking a shot without the text (or finding the original). |

Hi Carole,
What a nicely done close up! I see the bread because I know the topic, but an unsuspecting person might see other things....such as a wooden canoe on a frothy sea. It might be interesting to show this to a few people and find out what they see.
Latelyt I use my "big" camera only for zooming in on such things as wildlife and for capturing the motion of birds. My iPhone does excellent macro shots as well as landscape shots. My big camera does come in handy if I want to control the DOF more precisely, like just having one edge of a flower be in focus. |

Hi Ally,
Your image makes my mouth water! There is nothing like crusty French bread. The lighting and arrangement of the loaves are quite pleasing. Well done! |

Hi Leo,
What a colorful group! You did a great job capturing the motion. I like the angle. It makes me feel as if I am at the racetrack, in front of the racers.
Well done!

Hi Bruce,
I like the warmth of this image. Its tonal characteristics communicated a breezy fall day. Nicely done.
You might consider cropping a bit off the top to emphasize the windmill more.

Hi Harley,
You did a good job of removing the distracting oven mitt. I think the saturated treatment you gave this image would make for a wonderful greeting card. The "fake steam" makes one's mouth water!
I enjoy using effects like these too. My go-to app is Topaz Studio.

Hi Mark,
The black background sets off your wife's hands nicely. The lighting is good. Great job!
