Hi Nancy,
It is a whale shark. On a recent trip to Baja, California, I was in a small boat tracking whale sharks. It is a filter feeder, so no threat to humans. My husband and others had the opportunity to jump in the water and follow this huge fish! They had to swim fast, which is why I opted to watch from the boat, not swim.
Your image shows the magnificence of this creature. Being able to see it from below is marvelous. I like that the people are silhouetted. I can feel the wonder as they look up at the belly! Great job. |

Hi Connie,
Very nice image. I'm amazed at how good photos at high ISO turn out these days. The black is black and noise free. The colors vibrant. Great composition. I have nothing to suggest. |

It looks as if the warthog was posing just for you! I like that you were able to capture that little red glow in his eyes. Bringing out the texture was a good move.
The problem with a zoo is that it is difficult to do more than a portrait. You've done a great one. But I don't know how you'd get the warthog to exhibit different behavior. You might consider a different angle where you could fill the frame with just the face. |

Terrific shot. I like that you were able to capture the leopard with such an intense look in his eyes. What is he looking at? Possible dinner? I can't suggest anything. The framing is good, pose perfect, and color all looks good to me. |

Hi Lisa,
The elephants are very cute. You did a wonderful job capturing them. I especially like the spiked hair and the fact you caught them walking in step. Great job! |

Thanks Bruce. You are absolutely correct, I believe he never cut it once he became a holy man. He did stand up and show off the length, but because I was traveling in a group, the man was surrounded by tourists, most who stood next to him to get a selfie, some even holding his hair. I wish this trip had been a photographic tour. Then it would be possible to get a clear shot. But selfies are the new standard for travel! |

Thanks Andrew! Most of this was luck, as it seems with much of travel photography when with a group. |

Thanks for the suggestion Lane. With the chaos of 21 tourists jockeying to take selfies with this man, I was lucky to get a moment to snap him. I'm not sure how well he can see. He right eye might have been closed from disease. If you look at his hand closely, you'll see he either has an injury or fingers ing from a medical condition |

Congratulations on getting up the mountain! I've done my share of puffin chasing, and the weather typically isn't cooperative. Wind, fog, rain, and then the fact that most puffin viewing does require an uphill climb.
You might try using dehaze on just the center puffin to make him pop out of the fog a bit. I like the soft focus of his companions. |

Hi Lane,
This shed does indeed have a lot of character. I like the composition. Did you do any special post processing? |

Hi Bruce,
A very nice monochrome image! What did you use for the monochrome conversion? |

Hi Andrew,
I like the composition. The foliage and reflection add a lot to the photo. My only suggestion is to brighten the balloon a bit more so the colorful stripes are more apparent. |
