Orchids are wonderful subjects. You captured these perfectly. Like others, I see two bird images--one on top and the other upside down and below. Great job on the lighting and set up. |

Wonderful image of mating butterflies Leo. The blurred red background complements the green plant quite well. I like that the plant bisects the image on roughly the one-third line. It is aesthetically pleasing to my eye. The butterflies are in focus with good detail. It is easy to see that one butterfly is hanging on to the plant.
About Mark's comment for a third butterfly--in this case, three's a crowd. :-) |

Very nice bee image. I know how difficult it is to get a bee to pose--impossible with their zig-zag routes and fleeting stops. Patience and waiting for the bee to get overburdened with pollen are good strategies. Your effort paid off. I like the crop you chose. I think the blurred green background complements the yellow flower quite well. |

Bruce, your many trips to the feeder paid off with a very lovely image. Perfect exposure. Nice catchlight. I love the detail in her feathers. Great job! |

Wonderful image and a timely capture given that the flower is so fleeting. Great detail and good depth of field. Very nice. |

WOW! You have made a Margarita out of a lemon! Your image is very atmospheric. It is quite beautiful and to my eye, evokes the mystery of the city. It could be a good cover image for a detective story. Like Bruce, I might have tossed out this image. I'm glad you did not. |

Yes, I find the issue of right-to-left vs. left-to-right fascinating!!!

Hi Mark,
Wow! What a memory. I took a photo workshop from Bryan Peterson who encouraged me to approach people to photograph. If you asked her to pose, she might have. But whales, one cannot ask them to pose!!! |

Hi Bruce,
I wish I could have captured more of the fin---of the entire whale! The whale refused to stop and pose. Wildlife can be very uncooperative! This more than I've seen of most whales, as I typically see a blow or a tale. :-( |

Hi Harley,
Thanks for the suggestions of the angle. It does cut off some of the Mom's body, but I'm probably the only one who sees that. She just went under the ship and the juvenile was following. It's interesting you flipped the direction. I was in another PSA DD group where we had a discussion on whether people preferred right-to-left or left-to-right movement. I happen to prefer the way I actually took the image. Some people thought the preference could be cultural. What do you think? |
