Hi LuAnn,
Film! I'm impressed. Grain mills are grand old buildings that has such a nostalgia. You did a wonderful job. I'm enjoying the image.
Have you tried constructing a border in PS that doesn't obscure parts of your original image? I like that the original shows the complete window/opening on the main building and also more of the window on the right side. Y |

Great photo Pete! As you can see from the comments, it's one of those images for which we can each make our own story. I assume this man was rooting for a sports team, either baseball or football. Such passion! But then I read he was simply trying to be heard over a live jazz performance. The music must have been very load.
As much as people want their photos to be "glamorous" (aka Instagram-worthy) I find captures of people with interesting features to be far better--wrinkles, warts, tattoos, chipped teeth, bloodshot eyes--these sorts of image are about real people and real life. |

Hi Mark,
I like the image a lot. Although the original has a warmth to it, the BW is wonderful. It has great leading lines to the far light source. I don't have any suggestions to improve this image.
I'm glad I didn't live in the Bronze Age because I surely would have broken a leg trying to negotiate these stairs in dim light. Your image certainly shows the conditions under which early people lived.
In the future, you might also capturing an image at f16 or higher to get the closest parts crisper. I know this is a matter of taste so I offer this just as a future consideration. |

Hi Israel,
I agree that this is one of your best images! The lighting is wonderful. You captured the "waiting feeling" of the little girl. The image works well for me as it is. You might also consider a closer crop that allows us to see the girl a bit more. I retained the original ratio but made sure the girl is on the one-third line. Something to consider, but, as I said, your image is terrific as it is. |

Hi Emil,
What a find-a ring of daisies! You did well to convert to BW and make more of a contrast between the in-focus and out-of-focus areas. My eye is clearly drawn to the ring, but I appreciate all the flowers in the background because they clearly set the scene that you captured this image in a large field of daisies. Well done! |

Hi Bob,
Whether to freeze droplets or capture the creamy long exposure is really up to the maker and what aspect of the falls you want to bring out. Please don't consider the reviewers!
I love this image. It's very ethereal. You did a terrific job with your exposure to get that wonderful soft look. Well done!
I like your framing because to my eye, the transition from dark to grayish to white creates a pleasing gradient. It makes the image more of an abstract, which I enjoy. |
