Unfortunately I did not. I always delete other people's files after I post. Otherwise I could have checked the history! It must have been a small number. |

Hi Oliver,
When I first looked at this image, I had no idea what was going on. Perhaps because I eat cooked clams which open by themselves!
I think you have an intriguing subject. I like the lighting, but, for me, I would enjoy having the focal point of the image in focus. And perhaps the juice. I agree with Bob's "sentence" of getting five pounds of clams! |

Hi Nick,
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy seeing the results of working with a paying client. As LuAnn pointed out, it's difficult to offer any critique because the image is a collaboration between you and the client. The most important thing is that they are pleased with the result. |

Hi Israel,
What a great opportunity to photograph an opera! I attend many operas. Aida is sometimes staged with real elephants for the march. This production looks rather modern.
I am guessing that the what LuAnn refers to as overhead sound acoustics is actually something the director added and believes has some deep symbolic meaning to the opera. (They do that sort of thing!) Oliver's crop removes this object which focuses my attention on the main characters.

Hi LuAnn,
Your post processing really improved the image. It imparts a mysterious and somber mood that wasn't in the original.
Where are the steps leading to? Will there be a rendezvous on the bench? I can imagine all sorts of things by looking at your creation. I think you achieved your goal. |

Hi Emil,
What a great capture of an interesting subject. Good job.
LuAnn's suggestion of toning down the luminosity of the chairs will help to put more focus on the house. I don't have a problem with the vintage of the chairs. Plastics were invented in the 1940's. The chairs, while not as old as the house, are old and indicate that the house is inhabited and its occupants enjoy porch sitting! |

Hi Bob,
How creative to use a light pad. I've often thought about getting one. Now I am inspired. I enjoy the clean look and brilliant color of the original. Some of the detail is lost in the conversion, but I think the image has potential. It's the sort of image that could take many treatments. I like LuAnn's revision because it bring back some of the detail and has that retro grainy look. I agree that grain works well in some situations, and this is one.
I could not help but to play with your image, so I thank you in advance. In Photoshop, I applied a twirl filter, the flipped the image into another layer. Then used Multiply mode to composite the two layers. Then I converted to BW in Silver Efex using one of the Fine Art Process looks. |
