My local camera club just had a focus stacking workshop for its members. It really has become easy using the most modern digital cameras. No need for a focus rail or lengthy shooting sessions! I had used Helicon Focus and manual capture in the past, but after that workshops I learned that my camera has focus bracketing and that even PS can stack suitable. You have inspired me to try more stacking. |

Hi Pete,
Beautiful image, a terrific pattern shot. You did a wonderful job stacking. You've almost convinced me that I am looking at a bunch of sparklers.
Well done!

Thanks for the comments LuAnn. Between your suggestion and Bob's insprirational abstract, I think I can have some fun playing around with this image! |

Hi LuAnn,
I, too, have been captivated by those menacing power lines but I've not taken the time to photograph them. To me, they look like giant aliens posed to invade. By converting to B&W, adding grain and darkness at the perimeter, you have succeeded in making the power lines look even more menacing. Danger! Danger! indeed.
If only Nikola Tesla's scheme for wireless power transmission succeeded, we wouldn't have these lines.

Hi Emil,
Great job. Using a Gaussian blur mimics the fuzziness of our past memories. It was a very good choice in my opinion. It's a very fitting image to capture Route 66.
I'm not bothered by the wires. I agree with LuAnn's suggestion that they contribute to the timeline.

Hi Bob,
I love this image! It's a wonderful abstract. It would make an excellent cover for a music recording. The image works well as B&W, but I also really enjoy the color version. I look forward to hearing what happens in the competition.

Hi Israel,
You did a good job capturing the essence of the ceremony. B&W suits the subject well. To me, the most amazing part of the image is the monk himself. I like the way the light illuminates his face because it highlights his intense focus.
Another approach might be to focus on his face. I cropped your image and sharpened it a bit. What do you think?
