To me, this bird looks as if she is dancing on the water. What a great shot! I like the way you completely darkened the background, thus simplifying the image and drawing my attention to the bird. The detail in the feathers is good. The lighting works well to highlight the wings as well as create the lovely reflection in the water. To my eye, the composition has a nice flow to it. Great job!
The orientation of the image works well for me. |

When I look at this image I want to get my backpack and go hiking! I like the way the blue of the sky complements the gold in the foreground. I think having people in the image highlights the height of the mountains. You managed to capture some very interesting clouds.
To my eye, the image seems a bit unbalanced. I am guessing that you want the viewer to appreciate the large cloud. If so, you might consider cropping the left side of the image as well as a bit of the foreground. Joan has an interesting suggestion as well. I think it's all about what you want me, the viewer, to appreciate about this tranquil scene. |

You did a great job of capturing the intense gaze of the mom on her pup, while the pup obviously is captivated by something out of the image. For me, the crop is quite good. I think the purple lupins and greenery work well as a backdrop to more subdued coloring of the animals.
To my eye, the depth of field detracts from the image. I agree with Joan that a higher f-stop might produce better results. |

I think you did a great job capturing the swans with their wings out. You also brought out the detail in the wings well. I like the way you left enough room on the right for the birds to fly into. I think the lighting is quite good. Nice image.
To my eyes, the horizon needs a small amount of straightening. You might also consider cropping out the partial duck that is on the right side. |

When I look at this image, it brings back memories of time I've spent in Yellowstone National Park. I think you captured a great pose and his "don't mess with me" attitude. Your adjustments did a great job of bringing out the detail in the fur. I like that I can see a glint of highlight in his eye and that he appears to be looking at me! Great work. |

To me, this image is a peaceful one. I think the angles of the fountain partition the image well and help to place the frog in my center of attention. The detail in the frog is quite good. I think that flipping the image improved it, at least to my eye. Depth of focus is great.
In my opinion, the yellow border is distracting. |

Thank you for your thoughtful comments and tips. It hadn't occurred to me to use blur in post processing. |
