I like the way you captured the intense focus of the athlete. The depth of field is perfect as well. To me, it seems your crop is the best it could be.
The edge-on view of the ski on the right distracts me just a bit, as it looks more like a rope. Given the demands of capturing live sports, I know this is out of your control. |

Wonderful horse image! Nice cropping job to focus the action. I like the way you emphasized the color in the grasses. I like the way your treatment makes the image more like a painting than a photo.
I agree with Walter about the bluish dust. For me, it draws my attention away from the main focus. |

I admire your adventuresome spirit to experiment with a motion blur effect. I have never used that technique, but now I am inspired to try.
The motion blur of this image is not effective for me perhaps because the girl is not distinct from the background. It appears to me as if she is running into the net because the net appears over her leg and shirt. Is that an effect of the motion blur or is she in contact with the net?
I agree with Joan that a more effective approach might be for either the runner or the background to be sharp, and the other blurred.
I don't think that the figure looks too modeled. It's terrific that you have someone to pose, as you'll have opportunities to try out some other approaches using motion blur. |

That's a great suggestion Joan. I was deliberately going for the black look, and even increased the black deliberately. I took your suggestion and I think the image now looks more balanced to me. On a more practical note, I think it might be a more effective projected image because the image edges will be a bit more apparent. Revision attached. |

I am impressed by your editing expertise! I like your choice of crop, especially how the branch on the right offsets the incoming bird. You composition captures both the motion of the bird and the anticipation of its mate quite well.
For me, the incoming bird looks as if it should be grabbing a branch or is about to land on one. I wonder if you tried a version where you removed only the branches obscuring the bird in the nest. |

This image brings back fond memories of hikes I've done in the high mountains. It captures the wonderful rose glow of the sunrise perfectly.
The line of the mountain along with the contrast of the unlit side create a dramatic photo in my opinion. Your choice of using a green hue for the sky gives the image a mysterious aura and makes the composition quite interesting.
Perhaps the most striking aspect of this photo, for me, are the clouds and how you made them match the intensity of the mountain glow. |

This image is a visual treat for my eyes. I think the peacock is a wonderful subject because of its contrasting colors and regal appearance. This image captures both the color and the countenance of the bird perfectly.
The crop works especially well for me. I like that the head placement is offset by the dense feathers in the tail.
For me, this image is flawless. Great job! |
