78 Jan 26 Comment No new comments, this is to test whether Brenda receives an email saying that a comment on her image has been posted. Jan 14th
78 Jan 26 Comment Here I've removed the streaks and the bits of ice touching the borders. The streaks that Brenda mentioned are from gently wiping flaks off the plastic sheet in preparation for collecting a new batch. Because of the streaks I'm now prepared with a sheet of black tempered glass. I have also worked on the lighting and focus by testing with tiny crystals of salt, I find, much to my surprise, that focus stacking is the best way to collect sharp images even of objects as thin as tiny salt crystals. I'm waiting now for snow with an air temperature of about 20 degrees. So far the ten day forecast is not hopeful. Jan 14th
78 Jan 26 Comment I think I would like this a little more if the upper walls and ceiling were sufficiently brighter that their intersection could be seen. I wonder if there are any artifacts that could be included in such a picture to give it some historical context? Jan 12th
78 Jan 26 Comment Both the man, and the background interest me. It would have been nice if there had been some way to connect the two. Does he trade in old items, or does he repair them, or does he just love being a photo model? A virtue of using a smart phone to take such pictures is that it isn't imposing or intimidating so people often are more relaxed while being photographed. Jan 10th
78 Jan 26 Comment Well, even though I don't like doctored images, the addition of the truck adds a lot to the interest of this image. I much prefer the B&W version. I'd like it even more if the tonal range of the barn were broader. Jan 1st
78 Jan 26 Comment A very interesting photo. I wonder, are the wings really as broad as shown in the photo? I am no fan of significant changes to photos as originally taken, but I wonder if AI could extend the two pink flowers a little bit to the left so they don't look cut off. Jan 1st
78 Jan 26 Comment I like the clarity and the blacks and whites of the owl. I'd like it a bit more in context, that is, if the opoening in the tree were just barely visible. Jan 1st
78 Jan 26 Comment Very nice. The eye, particularly the highlights could be brighter. Jan 1st
