78 Jan 25 Comment Normally I'm not very enthusiastic about highly modified images, but I find your watercolor version to be most beautiful. Jan 20th
78 Jan 25 Comment I like the effect of Ed's removal of the halo around the branch. Jan 14th
78 Jan 25 Comment I like the beautiful subject, her pose, and the excitement of the ribbon. You were right in wanting to change the background. I'd have liked it more if the background were less distracting. To my eye, the ribbon has a slightly more interesting shape in the original than in the processed image. Jan 10th
78 Jan 25 Comment Brenda hit some of the same points I would have, but her critique is much deeper, more thorough, and more helpful than what I could write. Jan 7th
78 Jan 25 Reply Berries too bright. Jan 7th
78 Jan 25 Reply Yes, you properly exposed so as not to blow the highlights, but it wasn't apparent that you could extract so much detail out of the shadows. At least, I can't using your posted original. Jan 4th
78 Jan 25 Comment That is an impressive rescue from what looks like a hopeless original image.
The stream and stream bed at the bottom show that the camera was level for the shot. Nonetheless, the rock formations and the clouds make the image feel tilted which I find a little disorienting.
I'd like it more if the colors of the rocks, sky, and clouds were closer to what I'd expect during a sunset. This image feels nicer to me with a substantial boost to the color saturation.

78 Jan 25 Comment I like the leaf colors and patterns of the fallen leaves as well as the hint of blue in the water. I'd like it still more if the drooping fronds on the right were less dominant. Jan 2nd
78 Jan 25 Comment That's pretty amazing editing--from what looks like a ribbon dancer to what looks like a bird.
Seriously though, on my monitor the bright red berries distract from the bird. For some purposes, perhaps less bright?
