After transferring the raw file to my PC, my image editing program could open the raw file and allow me to do editing. I wish I had known this earlier. Now for some experimenting to compare image qualities. |

Thank you for the camera suggestion. I just purchased a Sony with a wide angle zoom. |

No, I've not yet tried the raw feature on the iPhone. I just tried, but was unsuccessful in converting the raw file. I'll work more on this later. Thank you for the suggestion. |

The bird in the hand is great. I agree that the background is distracting. I am surprised that the iPhone's shutter was quick enough to stop the humming bird's wings. |

Yes, that would be nice, but somewhat artifical as the three central panels are on the wall behind the altar, and the two outer panels are on side walls--hence the need to make this composite from three separate shots. |

I like the pine trees, the sunrise, and the statue. I would like it more if the Buddha were not ignoring the beautiful sunrise and if the contrast in the bottom layer of clouds in the sunrise had not been boosted so much. I agree with Jim on the branches hitting the Buddha's head. |

I like the primative feel of the scene and the concentration of the women's attention on their painting. Because of this focus, I would like to have seen more of the area they are working on (same as Brenda's point). I like the multiple paint buckets, but not the bag(?) labelled PUP NUK. Because the context in which the painting is being done is important to me, I prefer Jim's editing of the light to Brenda's. |

I agree with Jim--very nice image of the dome, but to me, the white blobs do not feel connected to or related to the dome. |

I very much like the overall composition and the idea of your adjustment of the lighting. I would like it more if the lighting in the modified version were more consistent. The blacksmith appears to be illuminated by warm light, but the reflections, particularly off the anvil are of a light that is anything but warm. |

I like that you darkened the church and made it more blue. I would like it more if you go still further with the darkening.
The amount of the image devoted to the church relative to the Milky Way says that the subject is the Church. Perhaps change the ratio a bit? To me the image would feel more natural if the Milky Way didn't continue straight up from the steeple, perhaps tip it clockwise 30 degrees? |
