30 Sep 22 Reply You succeeded in your objectives. For me, I'd just like the whole image to feel like a watercolor. Sep 19th
30 Sep 22 Reply OK. Thanks. Still though, the processed image looks pretty good to me. It doesn't look like any information was lost. By the way, when I'm not making a focus stack, even when hand holding, I exposure bracket three shots at one stop apart. In processing I then choose the one most appropriate exposure for the effect I'm seeking. Sep 19th
30 Sep 22 Comment As with Dorinda's image, except for the dark sides of some of the rocks, I'm not seeing out of range darks or lights so I need help in understanding how exposure bracketing would improve this image. Sep 18th
30 Sep 22 Comment After looking at this a few more days, I think I understand why I don't have a more positive reaction to it. In one image there are two competing styles. The background and some of the foreground has been given a watercolor feeling while almost all of the ship is photographically real. Sep 16th
30 Sep 22 Reply Could you and/or Judy please help me understand how exposure bracketing would improve this image. I see nothing important as over or underexposed. Sep 16th
30 Sep 22 Comment The colors and general subject are both nice. I'd prefer less distortion and less manipulation. Sep 12th
30 Sep 22 Comment I agree with Judy's comments on the image itself. Sep 10th
30 Sep 22 Comment I was perplexed by what you wrote concerning when a polarizer would be effective and when it would not. I was then astonished to discover some misleading information on the web on the topic.
First, if the light source is at 90 degrees to the direction that the camera is pointed, you won't even see reflections because they go off in the other 90 degree direction.
The misleading discussions on the angles, e.g. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/tips-and-solutions/why-and-how-to-use-a-circular-polarizer-filter?
fail to make the distinction between reflection from a surface (like water) where the maximum effect of the polarizer occurs when the light source is directly opposite from the camera, and observation of the sky where polarization is generated by scattering and the maximum polarization occurs at 90 degrees from the sun.

30 Sep 22 Comment Nice colors and color combination. It will be a fun series of shots all using the same copper vase. Sep 5th
30 Sep 22 Comment I like the interesting idea and the detail of the shell. My eye is immediately drawn to the center. I'd prefer that the center area be in sharper focus or give the impression of being in sharper focus. Sep 4th
30 Sep 22 Comment I like the angle from which this was taken and the workers plus the reflections. I am troubled or perplexed by what is producing the irregular discontinuity on the far left. Sep 4th

42 Sep 22 Reply Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Sep 16th
42 Sep 22 Comment Very nice lighting and orientation of the spoonbill. I also like how the image shows the native environs of the bird. Sep 11th
42 Sep 22 Comment I wonder what a shot would look like taken from this position at late dusk with light inside the church behind the stained glass window. Sep 10th
42 Sep 22 Comment It is different, and that captures my attention. I am somewhat bothered by the relatively large very blurry area in the upper left. Sep 10th
42 Sep 22 Comment Morning, and the sun is that high? I like the sunburst in the center. and the fact that this upward shot of trees differs from most in that it omits the row of trees across the top pointing towards downwards. Sep 7th
42 Sep 22 Comment Haven't we seen this before? Sep 6th
42 Sep 22 Comment The first things I see are the nice, bright reds of the ship. The second thing I see is what looks like a mispelling of antarctic. Perhaps it is a Chilean ship and that is the Spanish spelling? It is nice that there are people in the image as they provide a size scale for the ship. Sep 4th
42 Sep 22 Comment At a focal length of 480 mm, I'm surprised that the spectators behind the fire are not more blurred. Did you focus at the distance of the fire and use as wide an aperture as possible? I'd prefer that the reds and oranges not have been boosted as much as they have been. The image has a strange effect on me. There is this amazing ring of fire, but no one seems to be looking at it! Sep 4th
42 Sep 22 Comment I like the magnificent sky and clouds. The color of the sky seems very close to natural. Since it seems to me that the intent of the image is to showcase the church, I would prefer that the front of the church be in direct sunlight, or at least bright enough to compete with the dramatic sky. I'd also prefer to have something in the foreground. Sep 4th
