The lighter areas of the shadow look like a shiny blue. Do you know where that comes from? |

I like the action, the sharpness, colors, and context of this shot. I am perplexed by the dark blue section of the log somewhat to the left of the heron. |

The flowers have a nice range of purples. In addition, I like the way the background enhances the overall image. As a fan of natural images, I also like seeing the spider silk. I'd prefer that the greenish fringes between some of the flowers and background not be present. |

For a competition I'd suggest somewhat less tight cropping (I want to see the full antena.), dimming the yellow of the flowers, and cloning the legs and antennae from the original. |

This is an interesting shot of two eye colors. |

I like seeing the bristles and pollen in focus. I also like the combination of bee and background. I'd like it more if more of the bee were in focus, particularly the antenae. If you are shooting one shot macro's, don't you want a greater depth of field than you get at f/2.8? This might feel a little more natural if you reversed it left-right so the bee was pointing upwards to the right. |

I like the sharpness of the birds and the mother's interest in her offspring. I'd like it more if the complexity of the vegetation and the red berries offered less distraction. |

Isn't this a swallowtail? I am trying to figure out why I prefer your original to your processed image. Two reasons seem to dominate. First, the legs and antennae seem sharper in the original, and the second is that the brightness of the yellow flowers draws my attention to them, but then I find the flowers to be blurred. I like the composition. |

Since you don't seem to read of my comments and never make any of your own, I've lost interest in commenting on your images. |

I like the nice, tender moment. Nice focus and composition. I do wish that both eyes of the baby had been visible. |

I like the Prairie Dog in context. It looks focus for this shot was slightly in front of Prairie Dog. |

Yes, interesting subject, nice composition, and nice sky. To me this feels better in B&W where it can be given more punch. I wonder if to me this feels more natural in B&W is because the subject clearly is from a time predating color photography. |

The cool morning "froze" the damsel fly, making the shooting possible. |

I'd consider that a very nice improvement on Mother Nature. The dark veins provide a wonderful texture and adequately tone down what would otherwise be an eye-searing red. The background removal improved this a lot. There are some little flares or flaws near the top center that could be removed. |
