Thank you. That was helpful. It seems like in this case "tone" means a combination of hue and luminosity. |

Could you please expand a bit on what you did with respect to tone mapping? After obtaining the map, it seems like you must have used it to remap some of the colors? How does tone mapping differ from shifting a few colors? |

Jody's changes nicely address the issues I raised. |

Your picture makes me glad I'm not a spider being hunted by this sharp-eyed Swamp Predator. I like the angles of the stick and its reflection as well as the nonclassical orientation of the bird. I'd like it more if the water were a little more blue, but that is not under your control. |

On my monitor this comes through with amazing reds. Do you know how the reds on screen compare with actual color? We still have a Christmas Poinsettia. Its red leaves are outside the gamut of the monitor on my camera or computer. |

I like how the blue background complements the brown of the bird and branches. I would probably like this even more if the vignetting were even stronger, as that would reduce the distraction from the small branches and at the same time increase the feeling that this might be what you would see through a pair of binoculars. |

I love the fantastic colors and detail. It is so bright however, that if I had it on the wall, I wouldn't want it to be too large as it so strongly attracts my eye. I like the fact that the horizon is slightly curved downward. I have found that making the horizon absolutely straight in images like this gives me the feeling of rigidity, so I prefer it curved. |

I very much like the perspective and the choice of making it monochrome. I also like the removal of the large tool in the center of the foreground. To me the doorway to the outside feels tipped to the left and I'd prefer it to feel vertical. On one hand, the machinery on the table on the right helps balance the image, but on the other hand, it competes with the locomotive. In the end, I don't know which is more important to me. |

It is an intesting picture. I like the colors and the contrast between the barren desert and the gaudy colors of the car and truck. |

In the darkroom of yore, burning in meant darkening. Is that what you mean here? |

The orange and blue go nicely together. I also like the fact that the heron is in motion. To me it would feel more natural if you flipped it left-right. |

I like the changes to the building and trees. To me, the changes in the sky have gone in the wrong direction. Isn't it possible in your software to reduce the saturation and the hue of just the sky? |

I agree with Stuart's comments on the branches and the image's sharpness. Because the building is the subject, I'd like the image more if it were brighter and the sky were less bright and a more natural blue. |

I like the lovely scene with the different colors of houses. I also like the interest generated by fact that the houses are on a hill. I'd like it a bit more if the tip of the stone arch didn't just graze the top border. |

I like the arrangement and most of the colors as well as the textured background. On my monitor the asparagus contains patches with a somewhat unrealistic neon green color that I would prefer if they were less bright. I'd like it a little more if the vignetting were more gradual. As I'm commented before, the combination of fruit from trees and a root vegetable strikes a slightly discordant tone with me. |
