One aspect of my preference for reality is that if an image has been constructed of components shot at multiple times or places, that the construction not conspicuously reveal this fact. |

This is very pleasant and uplifting. I would have liked this more if the horizon didn't just graze the top edge of the lower. Dorinda's crop helps, but to me doesn't fully overcome this problem. |

I like the composition and subject, and I like the increased saturation that Leonid applied. |

That's a sensible idea. I'll try it. |

I love the yellows and greens and that my attention is directed to the center by the sharpness in the center. I would like the image a little more if the center didn't appear quite so bright. |

I agree, I am unusually fixated on the appearance of reality. Perhaps this is a result of a lifetime of doing science and the fact that most generally, photographs capture what is there--reality. |

What a nice way to emphasize the beauty of cut glass. The nice light on the table top further increase my enjoyment of the shot. I agree that the image could be improved if it were sharper throughout. |

Could you please explain a little more about this picture? I've never seen pictures of glacier ice with the ice looking so dark and opaque. Is this the way it really was? It looks like the sailboat is way too close for safety to the front of the glacier. Are distances deceiving in this picture? The reflections indicate that the mainsail is being blown toward the photographer, but headsail seems to be being blown in the opposite direction. Is this what was happening? |
