I think your crop has dramatically improved my image. What is left still retains the velvet look I wanted, and the distractions have been eliminated. Thank you. |

Surprised me too. I don't know what came over me. |

In playing around I found that the following somewhat interesting image can be made simply by subtracting a slightly blurred version of the original from the original and increasing the brightness by 4 x. |

Yes, it might look more natural facing right.
The angle difference that is giving Jon some discomfort instead, to me, feels like natural perspective. |

Talk about leading lines! You have them in abundance. This would be wonderful if you had been able to capture someone just outside the tunnel, as Dorinda says.
The wet spot doesn't bother me. |

I, too, would prefer the bench to be present. How about putting it back so it doesn't just touch the bottom of the door? (This, by the way, is consistent with my general objective in image edits--that the edit conform to what I saw of the scene in my mind's eye.) |

I think this is along the lines that Dorinda was thinking. I, too, prefer this. |

A little warp correction on the left would bring building verticals parallel to the left edge of the image. |

Panning when the motion is across your field of view allows the main subject to be very sharp, while at the same time, other objects are blurred. |

Yes, those flowers in the pot are essential in this shot. |

It is a nice composition, but perhaps a little more could be cropped from the left and right. Doing this however, might generate problems with the orange object to our left of the first rider. It is fairly standard in photos of high speed objects to see a little motion blur. I have mixed feelings about the absence of such blur here. On one hand, it feels unnatural not to see some evidence of motion, but on the other hand, it is nice to see something a little different from what I first expect. Sometimes beautiful effects result from zooming a lens while the shutter is open. I wonder what this type of image would look and feel like if this were done. |

Quite an amazing statue and an interesting juxtaposition of people and the statue. It would be nice if there were a stronger connection between the end of WWII and the ending of gun violence. As a somewhat documentary or journalistic photo, I suppose it would be inappropriate to remove that building in the background. |

I very much like seeing the additional bridges beyond the Ponte Vecciho. In most shots of the bridge, they are not visible. The color saturation is a little high for my taste. I would like it better if the sky fit more naturally with the rest of the scene. The sky suggests that the town and countryside should be bathed in sunlight, which doesn't seem to be the case. |

Spectacular. I don't see how it could be improved. It looks like you even focused on the eyes, as we are often told to do. |

What an interesting picture. It certainly helped to clone out the two plaques. It is a nice cloning job, undetectable. There is an element of unease to the image that is generated by fact that the top edge of the bench just touches the bottom of the door. It makes for slightly more comfortable viewing if there is either no touching or significant overlap. |
