I guess people might spend more time looking at the image if the wing weren't there, but the removal changes the feel and message of the image a lot, and it will take me a while to decide whether this is what I want. |

Cute, but out of my realm. |

I wish it were more abstract. On the composition side, I wonder what an art teacher would say? It seems to me that the support truss draws my eye out of the picture and away from the rusted nut. |

Great shot of the kids, but to my mind, the background largely negates the positives. Possibly blurring the background would reduce its distraction. Over and over I get so excited by a subject that I forget to think of what the background does to an image and I forget to move around and try to compose the whole image: background, subject, and foreground. Possibly this happened here. |

I've become so accustomed to seeing parts of flowers in focus and part out of focus that having the entire flower in focus as a result of focus stacking feels unnatural. I agree that the red is not ideal. I also found the green to be somewhat weak, the angle of the stem to be a little too much for my comfort, and the background a little distracting. I tried changing all these with the following result, but I don't much like it, leaving me wondering just what would increase my liking of the image. |
