36 May 20 Comment Bill, Great picture of the fishing boat in the Member Showcase this month! Where was it taken? May 18th
36 May 20 Comment Bill, I am new to Photoshop and will have to do some experimenting with de-sharp layers. May 11th
36 May 20 Reply Arne, I agree that darkening the sky or adding a bit more contrast to it would have been better. Adding a bit more contrast to the waves would probably be better also. May 11th
36 May 20 Reply Larry, Your comments about the D5 are right. I have begun using it's Auto-ISO which lets me choose the shutter speed and aperture and it determines the ISO to use. the de-graining software out there now, higher ISO's are not as big a problem as they used to be. May 11th
36 May 20 Reply Michael, I think you are right about cropping out some of the sky at the top. Food for thought next time. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment I like this image just as it is. The way you have captured the moving water is great. I agree that the leaves in the trees in the lower right side or the image could be toned down some but that doesn't bother me. My eye kept going from the middle falls and then down to the swirling water at the bottom left. This is a really nice image. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment You have taken a ho-hum camera scene, which is probably not what you saw, and made it something memorable. I like the pinkish clouds in the sky, which one sees in sunset images occasionally, and the orange flowers really make for a dramatic image. Perhaps there is a bit too much sky in the image but it is a really nice image you have come up with. I have not used a Luminosity mask and will have to try it nor have I used a LUT. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment I like this image which brings out the flowers in the field. I agree with the others about the log being too magenta. It is spring time and I would expect the foliage in the background to be green as in the original and not brown. Other than that, excellent work and a nice image. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment Nice B/W of a dreary Chicago day. I especially like the clouds/fog covering the buildings and the bird adds an extra touch. This captures the mood at the time and conveys what it can be like at times in Chicago. This could also be a panoramic also cropped below the bird. I don't think I would change anything. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment This is a really nice composition. My eye went from the fence to the cabin and then the Milky Way. The break in the fence line gives one an opening to the cabin and the red/orange light on the porch at the right is really nice. I like the dark brooding character of the image. This is a really nice image as the posted comments by everyone attests to. May 11th
36 May 20 Comment This is a nice composition with the right amount of sky at the top of the image. Any less sky and image would not be balanced right. I like the way the bridge takes you right to the mountains in the distance...good leading lines. My first impression before reading any other comments is that the shadow in the lower right should be a bit lighter, my eye seems to want to go there. I think that the sky and mountains behind the bridge could use a bit of contrast as well as the sky. Good shot. May 11th
