Bob, You are much more advanced than I am; I still use PSElements with NIK and Topaz. We aren't able to travel like we used to so I will work on old images and try to take some local ones. Or, I could copy my many slides and work on them. You inspire me with your creativity. |

Bob,
I would have to search for all the terms you use:-)! You can add that I am the PSA Club rep for my club and the treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. That is why I don't have time to learn better processing. |

Tim,
FWIW. When I process images I mark them as OK for PT or PJ and then mark ones with changes as PID only. Maybe because I am a bit lazy and don't want to go back and re-process. It helps keep images in order. I also make a folder for similar images so I can keep titles straight to avoid repeating. |

Karen,
Of course, you are right! I guess I was thinking of what I do which is black and white or sepia or similar tone. I hadn't thought of going to one tone, so appreciate your suggestion! I usually make monochromes of most of my images but didn't for this one. I do need wake up calls now and then.

Thanks for the idea, Karen. I don't know how you converted it, but I tired Silver Efex pro and got more of a true monochrome. |

Thanks. Elaine. I don't do much experimenting because I don't know how to do a lot. I ma not taking many pictures now so am going through old images to find ones I haven't used before. I'be been in this group for ages so have to find pictures I haven't used before. |

Bob,
I like your version, but you must know I have no idea how to do all that! I have so much to learn and not enough time to practice. |

Bob,
That is a beautiful area and you captured a nice scene. (I remember being able to see Mt. Ranier from my anut and uncle's home in Seattle!) I like Karen's version with just the boy. I agree there is too much foreground; that can be cropped. I am glad I see my eye doc this week--I can't see the dark areas you refer to! It is good we have old photos to go back too. |

I am not familiar with the flower, but now I would like to see one. I agree that the yellow is distracting as it takes away from the subject. I like Karen's version and tried to see what I could do. I wasn't sure how much was the actual bloom so my selection may be wrong. I like the colors. |

Bob, Your image certainly created a lot of comments! I prefer the original too. I think there is too much bright area in the image. While the kayak adds interest, I think it just adds confusion. My club did several balloon shoots including one where we all got balloon rides and shot other balloons in the air. Much fun! Maybe you should try twirling this one:-). |

The title shows my age as I remember the song and Mitch Miller! There are lots of possibilities with this. My main suggestion is to remove the gray area in the upper right corner. The color is great. You could have saved it by doing a dying flower shot. I have seen some really good images of dead flowers. Well done as usual. |

I love the soft light in this image. We don't always have sun and blue skies! There is always the question of centered pictures, but I agree with Cole Thompson (https://colethompsonphotography.com/) whose Angel Gabriel belongs in the center. I like Karen's version, but think Tim's sky does not look real/appropriate. Just MHO! |

This is a very nice action shot with all the riders leaning in the same direction. The dust behind #6 adds a lot to the image. Since I am not a great processor, I love seeing what others can do to add space. I like Tom's version with more room on the right. Action shots can be a challenge since all is happening so fast it is hard to get everything the way you want it. For PJ, you would not be able to add space. |
