As I said below, I tried to straighten it but could only get the right side. I am still a novice at processing. I will try to use one of my skies to fill in the original. Thanks for your suggestion. |

We were fortunate when we went to Bannock as they had many costumed people in the buildings which added a lot of interest. I first heard about the place in a PSA Journal. Plus I love ghost towns of all kinds. I tried perspective efex, but I haven't learned to use it properly and it was too much. I did try to straighten it in PSE, but couldn't get both sides straight. |

Bob, I agree about the sky. There isn't room to crop it. I tried cloning come foliage, but I made a mess of it so will try a lighter sky than Gunter used. |

Good luck with astrophotography; I think you may need more specialised equipment. I love seeing such images, but feel like Tim. It would take more effort than I am up to now.
I love purple, but not sure it is as realistic as gold/yellow would be. |

Bob, Rules are meant to be broken; I like the 4 leaves and the rain drops. Gunter's version has more impact. This may not be PSA nature, but it is well done and could go in PID--even as a monochrome. I am not sure a bird house would qualify as PSA nature. Barn owls are an exception. Nature is my weak spot. There is a reason for the reality based Divisions and I don't feel they are to favor groups. In the Travel Division, we want to see things the way they are, not changed.
Have you tried a twirl with the leaves? It could be neat. |

I agree with the above comments about the water. The front boat is cut off which detracts from the image. The background is dark, especially compared to the bright water.
This reminds me I should look more carefully before I push the shutter button. |

Coming last has some advantages. I love the color and agree with other comments on the bright areas. I'd like to know how Gunter stretched the image.
The composition is very nice and different from what we often see. Looking through the trees to get a glimpse of the lake is nice. Well done. |

I agree the backs of flowers make good subjects. I think Karen's version is better than black would be. A local photographer shot a series of "dead" flowers some years ago; they were beautiful. People starting leaving dead flowers at his studio. I like the angle of the flower and the part around the stem (I don't know the term) adds a touch of color and lecture. It is good to try new subjects and compositions and then we all get ideas and learn in the process. |

It looks as if we all like balloons. My club arranged a day many years ago when we watched as pilots were getting their balloons ready and then we all went up in different balloons. Sadly, that was when I was shooting slides:-(. A friends image with me in a balloon was on the cover of the weekend section of the Wa Post (he daughter worked for the Post!).I agree that Gunter's sky is much better as the balloons show up better. Composition is very nice as is the color. |
