Bob, This was taken several years ago when DC was safer than it is now! I don't feel comfortable riding the metro anymore and we have not been in the city for a long time. We generally like to avoid big cities anyway. Thanks for your comment. |

I don't know much about your area but have been to Branson a few times. My father grew up in Kansas City so I have been there a few times--long ago. We have driven across the US many times and keep finding new places to see and for me to photograph. Last year we went to the Churchill Museum and the U at Columbia and discovered some new places in KS. One has to be careful in old buildings so workshops are a good option. Some places are risky for a variety of reasons. It sounds like you have possibilities at home. I should go in our garage and see what I can find! |

Rules can be a nuisance for creativity. My club rules got so ridiculous that I stopped competing and now am an emeritus member. I guess because I am involved in PSA, I am very aware of the rules for competition. There are creative study groups and they probably follow PSA rules re: all parts must be the work of the photographer. That is why I take texture and sky pictures. One has to be careful about contests since so many take your rights away. Keep up the creativity. I need to learn more about combining images.

Thanks. It looked like an image asking me to play with it. These days, I would not go into DC. I am afraid to ride the metro. |

Thanks, Gunter. Now if I could only add stripes to it...It looks better your way. |

Thanks. Now that you say that, I can see it is too light.
I'll have to play some more. |

We had to get a new router and that twisted my mind plenty as I had trouble getting my printers to work and finally could use one only with a USB cord. |

Bob, you certainly keep us all inspired to experiment. I love the muted colors and will have to try that filter. I had to play with this for fun and used the frosted glass filter in Elements. It is fun to experiment for different effects and your image has many possibilities. |

Very creative for sure. I haven't tried anything this complex. I assume the sun is your own shot. If not, it could not be used in PSA competitions.
It is certainly eye catching and well done. I like the monochrome combo.Of course, the eagle shot alone would be a great nature catch. Very nice overall. |

I can certainly second Tim's comment as I am not musical at all. I love the image just as it is. I think it may be more interesting than if it were a straight shot. The twist is just right for me. Well done. |

This is my kind of subject and I love it. In order to leave the washer in the UR corner, I cropped less and used the healing brush to remove the partial washer on the right edge. The tones are nice as is the arrangement. I have taken several workshops in abandoned buildings and enjoy whooting this kind of subject. |

Great action shot and the close crop really puts emphasis on the action. I think I have been to just one steeplechase years ago but remember the jumps they had to go over; it was hard to capture at the right time. The branches don't bother me as they are part of the scene. It all depends on the course and where you shoot. Well done |
