Good idea, Bob. We hope to go back in June after a convention in CO. We have to learn to use the shuttle there. I can't carry as much as I used to and my husband can no longer carry my gear so the phone is a big plus. I may have to consider the new Olympus 90mm macro lens--when I can sell some that I don't use. I had a 200mm Nikon macro lens and loved it. |

Thanks--I totally missed the signs that you and Karen pointed out. I was concentrating on removing the stone in the foreground. I could remove the signs for PID and crop closer for nature if I want to use it for competition, but am not sure it is worth it. |

Yes, white petals are a challenge, but they look good to me. It does seem a bit blurry to me. I agree that the spots in the upper left are distracting as are the purple flowers. Gunter's version is nice and so is Bob's suggestion.
It is a beautiful flower and worth photographing. |

Bob, I like the treatment you gave this image. It adds interest and makes it a bit different from what we normally see. It has a similar effect to the ArtCard app I just discovered on my phone.
I think I finally have all my filters on my new PC so I will have to get to work. |

We should always shoot for ourselves and this group too. It is fun to play with images for different effects. |

Purple is one of my favorite colors so that adds impact for me. I have not tried compositing so will have to add to my long list of things to learn. I enjoy learning the details of processing.
The main subject is in the middle and it might work better in a different position, but that may not be possible with your processing. Well done! |

Ha, you have snow after leaving the Mid-Atlantic. We've barely had a flake! It has been a rather mild winter so far. |

Fantastic shot! It works well in monochrome and the solarization works well. I think of you and alphorns and didn't know you also played the trumpet.
It is one of my favorite instruments and we once heard Maurice Andre play which was a treat. We also hear a nice trumpet at a Christmas market in PA by an accordion player!I don't play anything but love hearing others play. |

For me, the reflection really makes this image. I don't do much still life. If you want to see a very nice portfolio of still life, check the site below. Peggy Boike was a commentator of a monochrome group and does excellent work.

You certainly caught the peak of the action! Detail in the fur is excellent. The color threw me off, but we don't have deer that color. Just a note of caution--if you plan on entering any PSA exhibitions, you cannot remove anything from nature photos. I assume FIAP has the same rules.
Well done! |
