Bob,
My understanding is that a PSA member can belong to more than one chapter, but compete in just one. I have written to the CCCVP to clarify and will let you know. You can find more about chapters at
https://cdn.ymaws.com/psa-photo.site-ym.com/resource/resmgr/pdf/policies_/policies-chapter.pdf
I'll let you know what I learn. |

I read recently that we have to worry more about small critters--think ticks and mosquitos than the big animals. I'd be more worried about snakes since they are harder to see. However, i don't usually go where I might see any. |

We did a Denali trip years ago and went all the way in Denali past Wonder Lake and shot a lot from the bus. All those images are on slides:-(, We spent a lot of time on the way in and out and were able to stop at some places for a long time watching a mama bear and cub looking for food.
We were walking on the shore and I don't remember all the details, but we spent about a week in Lake Clark NP and were taken out several times a day. We even saw a bear near our lodging. |

I do have some frontal views, but it depended on where we were and where the bears were! We kept our distance--they can move faster than I can. |

Because I am always thinking of reality based divisions, I generally don't clean up the background unless I am going to use it in PID. Nice to see your comments again! |

It was taken in 2016 and I don't remember if we used tripods or not. We were driven to the area and were able to walk around with warnings if we got to close! I was looking for nature pictures so finally got to process a few more from this trip. Even though we had easy access, it was still a challenge to get a good view point. I have better images from the trip but wanted feedback on this one. |

This looks like a photo workshop image with photographers lined up to take the same shot. I agree with the cropping suggestions and like Gunter's version which gives more space in front of the photographers. Nice color makes a great background. |

Bob, this is a very interesting image and I like the creativity. I must look into Topaz more. Too many programs and too little time! you must have quite a backyard if you see hawks. We don't see anything unusual here.
The bird is tack sharp and without the creativity could do well in nature. Think the MAC Chapter competition coming up.

I can see why you are drawn to the lake! Wonderful, moody sky provides drama. It is a bit dark for me, but it could be my eyes or monitor...or both! The tree is in the right spot. I added a bit of contrast with Viveza and lightened it a bit. It is a lovely image. |

Another wow, Karen. This reminds me of Denise Ippolito's work; she is very creative and does a lot or bird images. See deniseippolito.com. I met her years ago at a judging, have heard her speak and did a few workshops with her--but not birds.
This is a great Hi-Key image and is a work of art! Well done. |

Excellent capture and great color. It should do well in a PJ exhibition especially. I don't think we need to see more to tell the story of a rescue. It is good you were able to get at least this image off the card. My 1st DSLR was a D100 which I still have, but converted to IR years ago. |
