Good picture for the pandemic. I bet it was crowded.I removed the flowers and blurred the background (probably too much)but it does take the distractions away. Did the same on the left---removed flowers. Good humor image to this time! |

Bob,
Fog is always a big draw for such images. I used NIK to add contrast and detail and darkened the bright parts of the sky. It is a lovely scene. I heard the Shenandoah was mobbed at times this fall. |

Karen, Another one of your good catches. I also wish he had lifted his head a bit so catch an eye. I hadn't heard about fires in RMNP--only in CA. |

Bill, You know I love monochrome and will be sending my mono version to my mono group and then compare the comments. I almost always convert color images. I also love to see people at work. |

Kathleen, It is fascinating to watch blacksmiths at work. It is amazing what can be done. I am glad there are still those who do the work for us to enjoy. |

Stephen, Thanks for your suggestions. I need to learn a lot more about processing, including sharpening--my eyesight doesn't help! I wanted a warn look because of the light. I lightened the shadows:-). I debated cropping the top, but it adds some interest. |

Stephen, I love this shot and am glad you had such an opportunity to photograph the creatures. We had a whale expert on several trips in AK which was a big plus.It is very nice the way it is, but I like the addition of the fin. |

Bill, What a coincidence that you mention Paul Nicklin; he was our tundra buggy driver in Churchill eons ago. I heard him speak at NGS before I went to Antarctica and talked to him afterwards and it was the same person. He is from Baffin Island and has come a long way since we traveled with him! Can one see Instagram without an account??? I am already in too many groups.Judy |

I also love pelicans and you got a good shot. I think it would be better if you just had the pelican or do what Karen did--easier said than done for me! It makes me want to go through my pelican pictures form FL in Feb. --that will be our only trip this year! :-( |

Karen, I would love to know how you did that move! I am guessing you selected it and moved it, but I have trouble doing that. It does make a a more interesting image.
