Karen,
This picture needed your magic touch. I like what you did with it. Since I cropped to much, the original will give me more room to rotate it. You really made a nice improvement. Thanks. |

I am not sure why I don;t think of turning things, but I may have taken it this way because of its position or mine. I cropped a lot so I will go back and work on the original which will give me more room to rotate. I don't know if that is permitted in nature or not, but it can go in PID. |

My bias is that this is in Delaware since Pierre duPont made the gardens for the public and my HS was named after him; it is now an ES and was renovated a few years ago. I like the patterns and think they add to the image. I hadn't really noticed the grate until I saw Karen's version which I like too. This could be part of an essay on the gardens. I wish we lived closer as they are a favorite place. |

You had several options--even slower SS to show motion in the trees, or do just the sky as Karen did. You could keep the sky as a sky and add it to an image that needs a new sky. I have a folder of skies and need to learn how to work them in better--hard with foliage! I used NIK to make some changes. |

Tam, you must love dancing and get some nice images of dances. This makes a nice monochrome image, but I would like to see the woman's dress a bit lighter to capture some detail. |

Your patience paid off--the reflection adds beauty and interest. A agree that the upper part is bright and detracts. I lightened the elk's head and darkened the background. It was a quick edit so it's just for the idea. I don't think I have ever gotten good images in RMNP and not for lack of trying! You really get good nature images. |

You certainly do introduce us to a very different type of photography! I would never think to have a portrait taken that way. I love the color and especially the reflection. I would make a separate image just of the reflection. I have mixed feelings about the bubbles but they add something to get the viewer's attention. This is a very nice composition. |

Welcome to our group! Great detail and texture. I would prefer more background too. Depending on your purpose, you can move a subject to better light and look for a good background. I am so used to photo travel definition that I always think in those terms where posing and most changes are not permitted.
You certainly live in a beautiful area. We spent a week in NE GA years ago and have seen a lot of NC where our kids went to college. Where in Ohio did you live? I have been through the state by train and car since i went to UW Madison. |
