My memory of those pesky beetles is collecting them in jars and my father adding turpentine or something. They devoured grape leaves among other things. I like the flower, but the background is distracting. I darkened the top of the flower and selected the flower and used gausian blur to solve the background problem. |

Wow, this really makes me want to learn Luminar. The horizon is in the middle, but I think the rocks in the foreground are important and I would hate to miss any of that beautiful sky.I agree with Karen about 2 lighthouses. Too bad it isn't larger. It does pay to have a camera handy all the time. |

This is a beautiful post with nice lighting and the pose is lovely. I am not sure what Bob meant about the lines, but I changed the entire background to the same color. You do so well with this type of photography. |

karen--another winner! I'd live to know how old the piglet is. You are fortunate to have so many subjects near you. The composition is very nice and I love the expression on the piglet. I think not showing all of mama was the right way to shoot this. It puts more emphasis on the piglet. |

Karen,
Thanks. I think I will try some different filters in Color Efex and see if I can get a better look. It was too dark or too light in areas of the picture.

Thanks, Bob. I know it needs work and will get back to it. I may just start from the raw file:-). We lucked out and found there were "reenactors" all over Bannock. It may have been dumb luck, but you might check to see if they have a schedule. Having people in old-time clothes really adds to the atmosphere. |

Thanks, Dorinda. I know this needs work and I will try again. It works better as a monochrome; it is in my mono group now.I was excited to try the Perspective Efex. Now if I can learn Luminar.

Having you in the group is introducing us to a new kind of photography. I like this shot a lot.The statue and model are well positioned. I agree with Bob on the black whatever it is.I would also remove the rock along the left edge. I'd be interested in knowing something about the statue. |
