Bob,
After doing the images, I read your biography and think you must be in N0VA since you mentioned the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. We are in the process of having a new website made and have begun planning programs. Henry Ng has membership lists for our area so we will set up a mail program and start a newsletter again. A spring competition is planned. I look forward to meeting you at a chapter event.

Bob, I like the vertical view and never think to try different views. I need reminders now and then. I guess my title is misleading, but since I took it at the Neon Boneyard, I thought of it as a neon design. |

Thanks for you comments. I am not as good with processing as I would like to be and use Elements and NIK and sometimes Topaz.I see there is more playing with my images from the Neon Boneyard. As they were when I visited (twice) it was hard to find a good composition so I concentrated on details. The museum is growing all the time so I may have to return sometime. |

Great night shot--no wonder you left Spokane early! The wet street adds interest and you made good use of getting out of the rain. Well done. I might like a bit more light, but not as much as Tam added. I never know whether it is my eyes or my monitor or both. |

Welcome to our group--maybe we are neighbors depending on where in VA you live. It is a beautiful state, but the Potomac belongs to MD!
I love both images and their beautiful color, but prefer the second one without any sky to detract.
Bob is right, we are supposed to put in images we have questions on. Suggestions from the group have turned several of my images into acceptances. I love getting opinions from everyone.
I would love to get a shot like this, but it seems I am never in the right place at the right time. |

This is a beautiful scene and the first thing I noticed was low contrast. I used NIK to increase contrast and add detail. I also darkened the sky a bit. The reflection is lovely. |

Great catch! I like the way the snow remained on one leaf. The only nit-pick I have is the bright highlights in the background. I tried working on them, but made a mess! I like your version and Bob's--artist choice. Well done and kudos for getting up and out early! |

Thanks for your explanation of the ceremony. The colors are great and this would be a good travel image as they are not judged as harshly for technical issues. I agree that it would be nice to see more of the fronds at the top. Fill flash may have helped, but I never mastered that, but have seen results that look good. |

I can see why you were attracted to this scene, but I agree that the flowers are too far apart and make for less interesting image. One flower on the left side is cut off. I cropped it rather drastically, but to concentrate on fewer flowers. I really love the leaves in the upper right corner, but there are no flowers there. That portion might be a great image in monochrome. A longer lens or getting closer with a macro lens could have helped. It is always easy to say that after the fact! I can't get down close to flowers as I used to. |
