Oops--my comments just disappeared. I love the way the bridge frames the water. Thanks for the history lesson; we've been to Acadia and didn't see the bridge. I also lightened the stone area and burned the water a bit. Jim, I still have a Nikon D300 and use it occasionally, but since I got into Olympus, my Nikon gear is neglected.
Bill, nice composition and good seeing.

Great composition. I like the door and stairway behind it being offset. This is my kind of subject. I tend to like more contrast, but that is a personal choice. I added a skylight filter and detail in Color Efex Pro. Well done overall. |

Tam,
Another beautiful shot. I don't think I could make it through the canyons' I added some contrast and detail in Color Efex Pro. I like the blue sky that Bob added. The curves and detail are wonderful. |

Beautiful as usual. Tack sharp and great pose. The eye is very sharp and that is most important. I agree with the others about the railing, but it is hard to remove. Bob has a good answer. I tried with the marquee tool and fill, but it didn't work too well! If you were to use in nature, you can't remove the railing, but there is an issue of man made object!
Good job by all with the editing. |

Sunsets are always a draw for photographers and water is always a nice addition. I agree that this lacks contrast and impact. I used Color Efex Pro to add contrast and detail. I agree about the 2 spots, but didn't notice them soon enough to clone them out! |

Bill,
You'll find the lighter weight nice when you have to carry it very far. I started early when Olympus and Sony were all that
was available and Sony didn't have many lenses. Now I am too invested in Olympus.

Bob,
I don"t remember any cold weather in SLC so I am confused about your running into icy roads. Great color. Of course many judges would complain that the horizon is in the middle, but such rules don't have to be followed!
Did you hear about the idiot who was chased by a bison on Antelope Island recently? He was where he didn't belong, but I don't know the outcome. |

We are on the road and I appreciate all your comments. I submitted a monochrome version to my monochrome group so it will be interesting to see the comments there. I like Jim's version better than I remember mine. I'll have to rework it when we get home. I agree a closer crop is better. I'll work on my comments when we get to NV where my husband has a conference.
This looks like another good round. |
