Thanks, Karen. I'll have to see if I have others with more face showing. It can be a challenge to find the right position with the right light. I was concentrating on the hands and hammer. |

Bill, opinions are just that! If the photographer likes the picture and that is more important than what a judge says. After a while, I get tired of silky water having seen so much of it. I do like it, but there is nothing wrong with not using it. "Rules" are meant to be broken. |

I would never have guessed this was in FL! I am more familiar with the Gulf Coast since I had a friend who lived in Bradenton in the winter and I often went down to photograph with her. We keep thinking about going down in the winter and want to go to the Everglades. After reading about the invasion of the Burmese pythons. What a sad story.
This looks like a place worth seeing. I think the water really makes the picture with the water moving back and forth. Well done. I'll have to add this to our travel list. |

Jim,
I love Gehry's work, but all that shiny metai is a photographer's nightmare! I have photographed his Disney Hall in LA, the Brain Institute in Vegas and the art museum in Seattle. All are very interesting. The yellow portion adds a lot to the structure and I think you did well capturing this interesting building. It reminds me of his Dancing House in Prague. A friend is going there next week and I told her to take a picture of it. I never did get one in my several trips there. Is the engineering building hard to get to? If we get up that way, I'd like to see it. Well done. |

That looks like a great place to take photos and you did well. Waiting for the people was good and makes the picture more interesting. I don't know how Karen added the top, but it looks better that way. The colors are very nice and the exposure is right on. Well done. |

It looks as if you used a long SS from the fireworks. The capital is a beautiful building and it would make a great shot by itself. I agree with Bill that monochrome is not a good choice for the subject. How is the interior of the capitol? Some are incredible, but they are harder to shoot. Technically, this is well done. |

Bob, You outdid yourself this time. This is a fabulous picture with great detail. There is no way to improve it. Looks as if you've healed enough to use your camera! Good luck with the fair competition. I never have entered our county fair and rarely go. It is in August and it all depends on how hot it is. It involves a lot of walking. There is a pig race and that sounds like fun. |
