That is something I don't like about the DD groups--too much access to the general public. I think it should be harder to get into the site for the reason you stated. The PID study groups have a sample that is available so non-members can see what a SG is like, but only members can have access to the images. The PT study groups are set up the same way--with a password that you need to see the images. However, all three groups can see the other groups. We do have to be more concerned. I found several of my email addresses have been pawned and that is always a concern no matter how careful we are. |

There is a committee working on restoring the theater. It must have been a real beauty in its day. If you are interested in photograph old buildings, looks for https://www.abandonedamerica.us/workshops-71158. The leader has done several books on abandoned buildings and for places like this, he gives back to the buildings to help preserve them. People who attend his workshops, can post images on the web site he set up. It is amazing to see what others take at the same place you were. I wish I had gone to Scranton Lace at least one more time! |

Who would have guessed what that started out as? If the article isn't too old, you might be able to find it on the PSA website in the list of old journals. Also, if you search for special effects and you can probably find a lot to play with. |

I agree about old buildings--the old structure is part of the image. Without PC lenses, it is nearly impossible to get everything straight. I can do some with the adjustment my EM % Mark II has, but it only does so much. All the so-called rules are meant to be broken! Everything doesn't have to be at a cross point in the rule of thirds etc! |

I have thought about doing that--usually after the fact! I should check the size of my edit too. I discovered that is why one didn't get through. I hope you got off on your trip OK.We had lousy weather yesterday when i was going to take pictures on the way home from DE. Oh well, there is always another day. |

Great seeing. I love the lines in the image with diagonals and rectangles. I increased the contrast and brought out some detail. I have no clue how to fix the door, but Karen did a good job with that. I like Bob's square version too. It is always worth trying different crops or just taking more images with different views. The crooked door wouldn't matter in PJ or PT and in fact could not be changed.I am not sure it would matter much in PID; it all depends on the judge no matter the competition! |

Nice capture! The birds cooperated with nice positioning for you. Just 2 little nit picks--the piece of wire sticking out in the lower left and the bright spot along the right edge bothered me so I used content aware fill to get rid of them. Since this would not fit in nature anyway, you can do whatever you want to it. I wish the background were a bit more out of focus. |

Tam,
Fog always makes for a nice photo. I think the image is a bit too dark so I lightened it. Also the horizon looked a bit off to me so I straightened it. I like Karen's version of the boat so I copied that idea. I always hear that objects should be coming into a picture so I experimented and moved the boat back and then used content aware to fill in the space where it was. The others probably can do that better since I am still learning. |

Karen, You nailed this one! It is a great capture with the animal very sharp and especially the eyes. You didn't say if you used a tripod, but if hand held, more kudos. You are certainly a master in nature photography. I agree that bright areas are a bit distracting so I darkened them a bit.
BTW, how did your star application go? The method is very different now. |

Thanks Karen. I saw things like this done by others on the Facebook page the workshop leader set up and it looked like fun. It does give me an opportunity to play and experiment. I toss many of them, but both apps are fun. |

Bob,
It is always nice to see other versions of my images. That is part of what makes digital so much fun. I was in a slide study group eons ago and all we could do is comment! |

Again, the image could not load--i made it larger with my changes. It would have been nice to get that message directly...at least until I woke up. |

Ugh, Now my comments have both disappeared! I couldn't get my image to load so here goes again. I agree that the exposure is a bit off so I darkened it, added a skylight filter and used content aware fill to remove a small rock in the lower right. I can see why you found this place so peaceful. |

Ugh! I just went looking for my edit and all my comments disappeared! I would also like to see more light on the boats and under the dock so used the darken/lighten center preset in CEP. I think the masts on the right really make the picture by filling what would be boring empty space. I did crop a bit of sky off too. |
