Tam,
I am so glad you made it through the hurricane OK. It must have been a horrible experience.
I like this image but would like more emphasis on the boat. I cropped it after adding a bit of contrast and detail. This was a good "catch" pardon the pun. |

I don't know whether you used the camera that came with the iPhone, but there are lots of camera apps for the iPhone and with some you can actually set the aperature, SS etc I have one that can can focus manually--which I discovered after looking at my blurry pictures! I agree this is a bit dark and the one bright spot does detract. But one has to act fast when a situation like this comes up and I think you got a good capture. I lightened it and brought out details in the shadows and cropped the bottom and part of the bright spot and then did some healing. |

Tam,
I will email you separately about this. I think you mean PPSA since APSA is something you are nominated for by someone else. See this page for information on star applications.
https://psa-photo.org/index.php?stars-and-ropa. You need 288 acceptances for PPSA and they have to be supported by star certificates. So first you apply for stars in any Division where you have the required number of titles and acceptances.
I am sure you have plenty, but must get the stars approved first. |

Tam,
I always appreciate suggestions; that is why I am in study groups! The color here caught my eye, but I usually try monochrome on my images because of the different look. |

I did clean up the wall, but I think I would have made a mess if I tried to remove the branches on my computer. I could have done it at the location..if I had thought of it. On the other hand, the town is like this bench--stuff every where!
You know a lot! I am the novice processor in this group. |

I wonder if the gardens were affected by Irma. I like your idea, but think there is too much out of focus and too many overly bright areas. I cropped it and added a vignette. I think if you had selected just a few thorns to focus on, it would have more impact. |

Another wow from me! I think the composition is perfect in spite of the "rule" against bull's eye shots! I once got the slide of the year in my club with a bull's eye--but that was long ago.I love dahlias, but don't do much flower photography. A photographer I know does a workshop at Swan Island Dahlia Farm, but Oregon is a bit far for me! She does amazing things with flowers and everything else too. Look up Denise Ippolito to see some creative photography. She lives on the east coast, but goes everywhere.
I did a minor vignette on this to put more attention on the beautiful center--which doesn't need attention as it grabs the viewer right away. |

This is great seeing and the fern forms a nice curve. I like the color in the background, but would like it a bit more blurred. I tried to do that, but my selection was not good so I gave up. You could probably do a better job. The fern is tack sharp and it might not have been if you had used a wider aperture. Kudos for not quitting in the heat. It is hard to photograph when it is hot--at least for me. |

The variety of texture makes for a better picture than if everything were pristine. I didn't even notice the person until I read Bill's comment! The lines formed by the grasses and "hills" on the right also add interest and make the viewer look all over. I am bothered a bit by the trees on the left so I cropped them to see how that looked. I also darkened the sky and rest a bit and added a tad of detail. I find it interesting to work on another's images as compared to working on my own. The sky is a bit of a problem--maybe because I get skies like that and don't know if it is the sky or me! Overall, I'd say you are back i the shooting loop. |
