Ellen,
Congratulations on your wedding.
This is a lovely shot and the background adds interest. The color is excellent as is the exposure. I think for most purposes the quality is just fine. A lot of pros are using phones now because the cameras are so goo.
A tiny nitpick--I'd like to see more of the flowers in the lower left corner, but that may have been impossible since they are all close to the ground. Well done. |

Bill, You certainly found an ideal spot for the misty morning. The mood is very nice, but it lacks contrast. I used NIK (while I still can!) and added tonal contrast and detail extractor to bring out more color and detail. It looks like a neat place to stay. |

Jim,
I have the same problem and always have to look them up. This might help https://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/wilderness-resources/blogs/whats-difference-between-water-lilies-water-lotus.This looks like a water-lily. I think this is too cluttered and the light is harsh which you probably couldn't avoid. I did some darkening and cloning and I think made it worse! Tey to get them early in the morning--that is always recommended for the local Aquatic Gardens. |

She is indeed a beautiful lady and you were lucky she agreed t pose for you. I think the background really hurts the lovely image. There are several bright spots around the image. I darkened them a bit and cropped a little too. I think if you out her on a plain background, it would be a much better image. |

Karen,
You made good use of a long lens and your patience paid off. There is nice separation between the figures and they are well placed in the frame and heading in the right direction.I might crop a bit off the top, but like it the way it is. |

Bob,
This is very well done, but your aperture comments leave me confused. You said you set it at 5.6 and stopped down so what is the actual aperture of this. It seems too sharp to be 5.6.
I see this as more of a pattern shot because there is no one place to focus on. It is so sharp and the colors are great. The vignette really helps a lot.Groups of flowers like this are hard to shoot to find a focal point. |

Karen, Thanks for your comment on my other pictures! Sometimes our own love of a subject gets in the way of really looking at our captures. I need to think about focus more and enlarge on the screen. I need reminders. |

Thanks, Jim.
That was taken so long ago, I don;t think I had even heard of HDR, but should have closed down more. We never stop learning and I was probably in a hurry...never a good idea. |

Thanks for your input. I did a search for that and it does look like desert sand verbena. I know only a few flowers and should keep better records when I shoot! |
