Bob,
Note the date I went--2011! There is no way I would go there now or to Turkey where we stopped on the way. I had been to Potsdam where Truman met with Stalin so it was interesting to see Yalta where Stalin met with Roosevelt. It could be a picture to play with! |

Karen,
I like both your corrections. It is hard when I see something like this and don't have better access! Perhaps the one with one door would be preferable. I'll have to go back and work on it some more. It was a beautiful palace and so historic. |

Wow! This is a fabulous action shot with great angles that make it very dynamic. This should do well in PJ-sports and general. You caught it a just the right time. I selected the
figure and lightened it a bit. I wish I had taken this shot! |

It is hard to get focus "perfect" without focus stacking or a very small aperture. You might be able to get a lens adapter that would enable you to use another brand of macro lens. I've been watching a class online with Frans Lanting and he used telephoto lenses for macro work and there are adapters that help with focal distance. I used a vignette and glamour glow. I like the focus on the bud in the lower left; the other one is out of focus and that hurts the image IMHO. In fact if you could clone that out, the rest wouldn't look so soft. The colors are lovely. |

Blue ice is surprisingly blue and I am amazed every time I have seen it both in Alaska and Antarctica. It is too bad the glacier is so dirty, but that is part of the way they are naturally. It would be hard to get this with a person or animal. One can hope for a minor calving! I darken the sky a bit and brought out some detail in NIK |

Great shot. I have always wanted to see this, but haven't made it yet. The reflections add a lot to the scene. I haven't seen images of Maroon Bells for a long time, but I always here that we have to find our own image at such places, but that is hard to do. Just to see what the reflections would look like as the focus, I cropped it. It is beautiful the way it is and I can't see anyway to improve it. |

There are still drive-ins??? I think this would tell a better story if there were a tray of food showing on a car next to the speaker or something else to tell more of a story. It could be part of a story if you had a series of images about drive-ins. I agree about the position of the screen--it is confusing. |

Bob,
This is a great place that we toured in a Chevy truck a few years ago. I agree with lightening the lower right corner, but I think the petroglyphs are too bright. I opened your original and used Viveza to increase the contrast and then Color Efex Pro to bring out detail and used the lighted edges. Out guide used a mirror to highlight the petroglyphs and I thought he had a flashlight! I think this would do better as part of an essay rather than an individual image. |
