Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
48 Oct 21 Comment The image is well composed. I like the the way the sign and everything behind is centered. You did that very nicely. However, I would have liked to have seen the person on the left meeting the rule of thirds. I think it would have given better balance. This photo offers a bit of confusion to me. I see some people in motion and some not. I see a head in motion but the words on the shirt are by contrast sharp. In my mind, ideally, the motion would have come from a ride in the background but how to accomplish that? Perhaps just me but I think just seeing a lot of people in a small space doing all kinds of different things like that provides a sense of motion/commotion without the blurring of parts of bodies. But, it was a good effort and you did accomplish your goal. Oct 2nd
48 Oct 21 Comment My thoughts - very interesting shot. I would have missed this one and it definitely is good and it is unique. It is well taken. It is well exposed, it is sharp, the color is great. I think the judges might have thought the old keep it simple rule. The subject is not clear. It does not tell a story. For instance. I did not recognize this as a lobster trap. Now, apart from that, there are other traps in the background but they are arranged or taken in such as way that they do not help tell the story or help us understand that this is a lobster trap either. Ideally, of course, this would be the only trap in the image. It would have a lobster in it. But my goodness, how interesting now that I know what it is and look at all those lines and angles and things that tell us how a lobster trap is made. Hope that helps a little. Oct 2nd
48 Oct 21 Comment So, you accomplished your goal. The water is definitely smooth. It is interesting what happened to the reflections of the legs of the dock. It is also interesting what happened to the colors in the water under the dock. It more than smoothed out the water, it also affected color and reflections. Neat photo! Oct 2nd
48 Oct 21 Comment Nice special effect. I have never used Topaz but have heard about it. I like the colors. Oct 2nd
