Hi Kamal - A lovely composition. I like the color balance, improvements in post and that the focal point presents an interesting story. I can't imagine how so many men on such a small boat don't capsize, given how heavy that net looks being pulled through the water! Congratulations on being chosen for the Member's Showcase this month - you've represented your style of photography well. |

Hi Erin - I have to agree - you did a lovely job. It can be tricky getting nine kids and teens to work together. Not only are all eyes open, with genuine facial expressions, they are nicely staged, and even all their feet are well placed. There is a natural, relaxed look to the image which was helped by your subjects coming dressed appropriately for the location. I also like your efforts in post. Despite your misgivings, I imagine that these grandparents are quite happy with your efforts! |

Hi Tom - This is a striking image that is beautifully captured and processed. There is a natural "Z" pattern that draws the viewers eye. Much like waterfalls, slowing down the water softened it against the harshness of the rocky foreground. I also like the this sky in this context. What's not to like? So no suggestions - well seen and executed! |

Hi Greg - I love images that evoke an emotion - this one made me smile. And yes, I have heard of the "no butts" rule too although I have seen enough creative images to not put much stock in it. I like your composition although think there is too much water which could be edited out to bring more focus to the duo and their synchronized swimming! Best - |

Hi Karen - I agree with all of the above comments - starting with great choice to go B&W. I like both image adjustments presented by Tom and Greg too! There are several options you can play with, pulling out contrast through the whites in the waves or flowers and by cropping strategically as mentioned by Ingrid and placing the focal point in the rule of thirds as mentioned by Kamal. So I have nothing to add to the suggestions already shared. It's a lovely, albeit moody, image! |

Hi Ingrid - What a beautiful landscape! In all the years I have lived in Colorado and passed this historical site, I've never stopped. I'll have to take a little more time and make the effort given this view! Tom's upping the contrast does make a difference. Love your composition! I think if you just dull down the color of that red car a tad, it won't distract from the bigger picture. The cars do tell a story and definitely shows off the scale of those mountains. Merry Christmas! |

Hi Greg - Your suggestion would be easier than my attempt in Lightroom. I'll give it a try! Have a joyful holiday season! |
