Hi Ingrid - Thanks for your insight and suggestion. I've attached in B/W. There is enough contrast, I do think it works well this way too - |

Fingers crossed - perhaps they've hit their sweet spot and will offer you a similar bonanza for years to come . . . one can hope! As for your image, I find something interesting each time I look at it. |

Thanks Tom - sometimes it pays to look up! Easy to find an interesting image here as that whole museum is architecturally gorgeous . . . there's a few good paintings and sculptures too :) |

Hi Karen - This image works well for your assigned subject challenge. Your exposure and handling of the fire pit is well done. Like your title, the image tells a nice story. If it were mine, I would show a little less leg and crop more mid- calf, just under the heel. You will still have the leading line but I believe a bit more balanced image with the focus being the fire pit. I agree with Tom - if you both hadn't mentioned the trees, I would have never noticed them without taking a good hard look. A few easy tweaks and I do think that your image is ready for the competition. |

Hi Erin - Boston is such an wonderful place to visit and I can't think of a better place to surround yourself in American history - great food and baseball too :) I think Tom's suggestions are spot on. I like the panoramic view, however the building on the left is a bit heavy and really doesn't add much interest for me. Try cropping that out . . . perhaps moving to a 3:2 ratio. The fog adds interest, supporting that nice water view of Boston's skyline. |

Hi Kamal - Interesting to see people going about their day and not paying any attention to your flying overhead . . . what a difference a couple hundred feet make! I like your crop pulling the village in for a closer look. I might suggest flipping the image horizontally so that the diagonal layout of the village is going from lower left to upper right. Can't imagine having to pick up and go whenever the river rises too high. Fascinating peek into another world. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Ingrid - A lovely image - I particularly like the contrasting color of the building against the aspen trees and the snow. When looking closely at the window there seems to be a stained glass effect going on between branches of the trees that are in front of the window trim - is that a creative impact as a result of utilizing Topaz BuzzSim? Assuming that is a Topaz plug-in? Nice eye and capture - |

Hi Tom - I'm so jealous - the fact that you live in a climate where orchids grow in your garden and in such numbers - they're gorgeous! Your color overlay is as creative as it is effective. The orchids could have easily been overshadowed; instead they are nicely enhanced - your colors and blurring work well. Perhaps knock down the bright white in the lower right. The orchid lower center draws my eye as a focal point in this image. |

Hi Greg - This is probably my favorite from your Belize collage series. Technically well done as is typical of your submissions. I particularly like the textures and coloring of your pelican and that water is amazing! The pelican's pose was a nice capture too . . . such a clear eye and that long bill skimming the water adds some personality. If I had anything to suggest, a nit would be the wish that lovely reflection could be seen in full. It's nice when a travel yields so many quality images! |
